4.6 km of TPU layflat for a major South Australian project

OBS recently supplied over 4.6 km of TPU layflat hose for a large-scale project in South Australia.

The order:
- 19 × 200 m lengths of 6" TPU layflat (3.8 km)
- 4 × 200 m lengths of 4" TPU layflat (800 m)

Every length is rated to 250 psi and fitted with Table E SS316 flanged ends and Emu style clamps, ready to deploy on arrival.

16" Casing Reamer Shoes for a major HDD project!

A client engaged OBS to engineer a 16" casing reamer shoe solution for a large-scale HDD project starting later in 2026.

We supplied:
- 3 × 16" CAN-PRO casing reamers with BTC threads
- 3 × 16" CAN-PRO casing reamers in X56, each with 500 mm of DN400 Sch 80 casing welded on in Brisbane to ASME IX / B31.3, 100% radiographed to AS 3992 Class 1.

They were delivered to spec and on time.

More SMI plug valves heading into the field.

We’re continuing to see increased adoption of SMI 2” x 2” 15K Lightweight Plug Valves across the Australian market — and there’s a reason operators are making the switch.

In an application where reliability matters, these valves continue to deliver. We’re seeing strong performance in the field, with SMI proving to be a reliable alternative to other plug valves in the market — including products carrying a significantly higher price tag.

But for OBS, supplying the valve is only part of the equation.

As an SMI Authorised Repair Licensed Facility (ARLF), we provide local Australian support throughout the life of the equipment. Our service capability is backed by a significant local inventory of genuine SMI spare parts, allowing us to support inspection, servicing, repair and recertification requirements without relying solely on overseas support.

Another engineered solution delivered!

OBS was recently engaged to provide a casing clean-up solution for a client operating in Western Australia.

Using the application data and current well conditions provided, our team reviewed the requirements and engineered a specific combination of casing brushes and scrapers to suit the operation — considering casing ID, expected scale and debris, fluid properties and operational parameters.

Rather than simply supplying a tool, our focus was on selecting the right configuration for the application to maximise cleaning efficiency, protect casing integrity and support a reliable run in hole.
