On Thursday our senior track runners attended an Athletics Carnival at the University of QLD. The students got to met world champion multi-class 400m runner, Alberto Campbell. He showed them how to set their blocks, warm up and even raced with our students. The Redlands Team was joined by students from St James College, Mackenzie SS and Logan SS. This was a relaxed carnival which encouraged inclusion and allowed our athletes to try some new events. Thank you to St James College for hosting and inviting us to this amazing event.

🚪📚✨ OUR DOORS HAVE COME TO LIFE! ✨📚🚪

As part of our Book Week celebrations, classrooms transformed their doors into colourful creations inspired by favourite storybooks and characters! 🌈🐛🧙‍♂️🐻👑

Students and staff put their creativity to work, decorating, designing and bringing some much-loved stories off the page and into our school! 🎨📖

Walking through the school has felt a little like stepping into a giant storybook! ❤️

🐄🐑 Old MacDonald’s Farm came to visit! 🐐🐓

Our Middle Years students had a wonderful time with Old MacDonald’s Farm as part of their English - Talk to the Animals unit this semester.

So many smiles, lots of fun and plenty of animal noises as students got up close with the animals! 🐮 Moo! 🐑 Baa! 🐷 Oink!

What a fun way to bring classroom learning to life! 💛

📚✨ BOOK WEEK FUN! ✨📚

What a fantastic celebration of Book Week! Our school was filled with favourite characters, colourful costumes and plenty of imagination as students and staff dressed up and joined in our Book Week Parade. 🧙‍♂️🦸‍♀️👑🐛📖

From superheroes and storybook favourites to some very creative characters, everyone looked amazing! 🌟

A big thank you to all the parents and families who came along to watch the parade and cheer on our students. We loved having you there to share in the fun! ❤️

There’s nothing quite like seeing books and stories come to life! 📚✨

🔎🪱 COMPOST CRITTERS! 🐛🌱

Our students had a fantastic visit from our friends at Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre, who presented an exciting Compost Critters incursion!

Before investigating, students made predictions about the tiny creatures they might discover. Then it was time to become scientists! 🧑‍🔬🔬 Using microscopes and magnifying instruments, students searched for compost critters, identified what they could see and tallied their discoveries.

It was hands-on, interactive and lots of fun — who knew there was so much going on in a pile of compost?! 🪱🐜🦠🌿

A big thank you to the Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre team for bringing science to life for our students! 💚

Every Thursday our new fishing team has been testing their fishing skills in different locations in the Redlands. Yesterday we tried our luck at Wellington Point Jetty where Tiffany caught a 14cm Yellowfin Bream. The team were curious about the texture of the fish reporting it was wet, soft and slimy. It was a beauty of a day and can't wait for our next session!
