The 31st of March is Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️

It's is a day to celebrate trans, gender diverse and non-binary people; their strength, achievements, and communities.

While many show incredible resilience, it’s important to recognise the real impacts of discrimination, stigma, and barriers to affirming care. These experiences can shape wellbeing, including alcohol and other drug use.

Creating safer, more inclusive services matters. That means:
- Respecting names, pronouns & identities
- Understanding lived experiences
- Building inclusive environments
- Valuing community strengths
- Let’s move beyond awareness - and into action!

🌸 Happy International Women’s Day 2026 🌸

Today we celebrate the extraordinary women who make Sisters in the City what it is — our support workers, nurses, coordinators, and the incredible women we support every single day.

In our world, women show up. They show up at 6am shifts and late-night on-calls. They show up with patience, clinical skill, and genuine heart. They advocate fiercely for people who deserve to be seen, heard, and empowered to live life on their own terms.

To every woman in our team — thank you for the care you pour into this work. It doesn’t go unnoticed. 💛

And to the women we have the privilege of supporting — your strength, resilience, and individuality inspire everything we do.

This Women’s Day, we’re not just celebrating what women can overcome. We’re celebrating what women build.

Happy IWD from all of us at Sisters in the City. 🌷

R U OK? Day 2025

R U OK? Day is about inspiring and empowering everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those who may be struggling with life.

You don’t need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.

Use these four steps to have a conversation that could change a life:

1. Ask R U OK?
2. Listen
3. Encourage action
4. Check in
Let’s make space for real conversations. Let’s support one another.
