We are pleased to welcome Dr Ben Cu***ng to Devonport Eye Hospital.

Dr Cu***ng is an experienced Ophthalmologist and Cataract & Refractive Surgeon with expertise in cataract surgery, vision correction, and the treatment of a wide range of eye conditions. He completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, followed by specialist ophthalmology training in Melbourne and advanced cataract surgery fellowship training at Northern Health and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr Cu***ng has extensive experience in both routine and complex cataract surgery, including advanced lens technologies and personalised treatment approaches to help patients achieve the best possible visual outcomes. He also treats diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, pterygium, and eyelid conditions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Cura Day Hospitals Group Optometrist Education Conference in Noosa.

It was a fantastic day of learning, collaboration and connection, bringing together around 60 Optometrists from across South East Queensland, along with Ophthalmologists and industry partners.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mladen Spasojevic as CEO/Director of Nursing at Ballarat Day Procedure Centre.

Mladen joins us from Healthcare Hobsons Endoscopy, where he served as Director of Nursing, overseeing clinical and operational services across two endoscopy clinics. He brings extensive experience in nursing leadership, clinical governance, quality and accreditation, workforce management, and operational excellence.

Mladen's strong leadership and commitment to high-quality patient care will be invaluable as Ballarat Day Procedure Centre continues to grow and evolve.

Leaders from across Cura's 39 hospitals came together in Sydney last week for our annual Management Development Meeting, hosted at the InterContinental Sydney by IHG. Across two days of workshops, breakout sessions, panel discussions and collaborative planning, Cura’s CEO/DoNs shared insights, explored opportunities and strengthened connections across our network.

A highlight of the program was an inspiring keynote presentation from renowned coach Wayne Bennett, who shared insights on leadership, culture and building high performing teams.

A memorable evening at the Yallamundi Rooms at the Sydney Opera House offered the perfect setting to continue conversations, strengthen relationships and celebrate the achievements of our network.
