This coming Friday is a really special day - Wear it Purple Day.
The 2026 theme of 'Colours of Courage' recognises the many ways LGBTQIA+SB young people, allies and communities show courage every day.
Courage can be loud and visible, like speaking up, standing out and challenging things that need to change. It can also be quiet and personal, like being yourself, coming out, asking for help, supporting a friend, or choosing pride and hope when it does not always feel safe or easy to do so.
This year's colours represent the many different identities, experiences and stories within our communities. Each colour is unique, but when they come together, they create something stronger and more meaningful.
Colours of Courage also acknowledges the people who continue to push for change in schools, workplaces, communities and institutions, especially where LGBTQIA+SB voices and experiences are still not always understood or welcomed. It celebrates the allies who listen, speak up, stand alongside others and take action to help create spaces where everyone feels safe and included.
It is also a chance to recognise the generations who came before us and paved the way, while celebrating the young people today who are continuing to create connection, community and visibility.
Because courage is not always about doing something big. Sometimes it is found in the everyday choices we make to be ourselves, stand beside someone else, show pride, offer support and help create a world where people feel seen, accepted and celebrated.
Show your support by wearing purple, or any colour of courage. Whether in-studio, at the grocery store, or in your place of work, showing that you are an ally could be just what someone needs to know they are not alone. Keep an eye out for purple ribbons in studio from Wednesday.
