Calf and Achilles strength is critical in running injury prevention, because it's exactly where your foot loads at toe-off on every single stride.
Weak here, and that load has to go somewhere else. Usually the shin, the Achilles, or the foot itself.
The Forward Leaning Calf Raise shifts the load onto the forefoot, closer to how your calf actually works when you run, not just how it performs standing upright.
Start with bodyweight, and add load once form holds under fatigue.
