It feels good to know more about how to keep our teaching spaces and community safe. Safety training isn’t the most glamorous part of the job, but it’s definitely an important one.

I’ve just completed a mandatory University of Sussex training on
Addressing Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Affecting Students in Higher Education.
It was an important reminder of our shared responsibility to foster safe, respectful, and supportive educational spaces for all students. Grateful for opportunities to keep learning and improving practice.

I’m pleased to have completed a University of Sussex course and certificate on Diversity in the Workplace as part of my role as a doctoral tutor.

The course offered valuable insights into inclusive practice, equity, and creating environments where diverse perspectives are genuinely supported. These learnings will directly inform how I support doctoral researchers and contribute to a more inclusive academic culture.
