The reality of midlife dinners. đź«
If you’ve ever stared at your partner’s massive plate while you eat a fraction of the carbs just to move the needle on your fat loss... I feel you.
Gary is getting roughly 1,000 calories here. My plate? Exactly 500 calories.
But here is the secret to navigating a changing metabolism: You do not need to cook two different meals.
The last thing I want to do after a long day is double my time in the kitchen. Instead, I make one delicious, dairy-free, macro-friendly meal and strategically adjust the portions.
Here is how I split it:
🥩 Protein: We both get the exact same portion to protect lean muscle.
🍚 Carbs: He gets the larger serving of rice/potatoes, while I keep mine strictly measured.
🥑 Fats & Volume: I load my plate up with extra greens to keep the volume high and manage my healthy fats. Swapping out sauces and dressings is essential.
You can absolutely feed a grown man without ruining your own macros or feeling deprived. It just takes a little strategic plate splitting and you don’t have to cook more than 1 meal.
