The one thing I see regularly in clinical practice is that most people are not being taught to manage pain & inflammation very well. This is not a blame thing either, so before anyone goes there.... DONT.

This is about awareness, because pain is often a result of inflammation, but inflammation can also result of unmanaged long term pain.

The problem for most people, is that they are being taught a pre-programmed mindset around using pain medications long term, and also a short-term focus on just getting out of pain. The inflammatory processes lingering in the background are often not thought about, or being taught either.

The issue for many is that they are waiting too long to take pain relieving medications, and then not using them long enough to stop the resulting pain cascade. Then pain is getting on top of them, which then often results in even stronger pain medications needing to be used.

The other part is not taking pain medications, and anti-inflammatories long enough to not only address the pain, but also settle down the inflammatory process driving the pain.

We also need to educate people about using antispasmotics, as these are often not even thought about, and taught about.

We need to start educating people about proper pain management strategies of taking pain medications, which include anti-inflammatories & antispasmotics, early on and not waiting. The next step is the education of then taking these medications long enough to stop the pain cascade, but also dampen the inflammation driving pain, and disease processes.

Lastly, it is making people aware that leaving pain & inflammation has far worse side effects than any perceived, or pre-programmed thoughts about side effects of medications.

We also need to be educating people about other pain and anti-inflammatory medicines that can be taken long term, and can be helping in preventing inflammation & pain flares.

If you need help with proper pain management & education, then contact my clinic and find out how I can help you. Contact [email protected] or call +61 0451 408898. In person & online consults available, no matter where you live.
