Assistance Animal Assessment

We offer in-home, in office and virtual assessments. As experts in Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) we help to truly understand how to ensure any person in receipt of NDIS funding has the best life of their choosing. Our assessments include individual observation, assessment and understanding, as well as the use of standardized assessment tools preferred by the NDIA. Our reports are tailored to deliver the best outcomes and we have a good success rate in achieving positive results. We take time to engage with all parties involved in support, including Family, Support Coordinators and Service Providers. We take a holistic approach to ensure all needs are considered. Depending on the type of the report, we may take 1-4 weeks to produce it. We will always clearly indicate the timeframes from the start. Same with the cost of the assessment, this will be provided upon booking, so there are no surprises! We are flexible, so if you have a specific requirement which doesn’t fit the mold, we can help!

It’s okay to ask questions.

An NDIS assessment can feel like a big step, especially if you’re unsure what to expect or how the process works.

Being informed can help you feel more confident and prepared. Before your assessment, it’s okay to ask questions such as:

➡️ What will happen during the assessment?
➡️ What information should I bring or prepare?
➡️ How long will the assessment take?
➡️ What areas will be discussed or assessed?
➡️ When can I expect the assessment report or next steps?

During the assessment, the focus is on understanding your individual circumstances, your current abilities, and how your disability impacts your daily life, independence and participation.

After the assessment, understanding the expected timeframes and what happens next can help provide clarity and reduce uncertainty.

At Flexiwell, we believe everyone should feel informed, supported and comfortable throughout the assessment process.

If you have questions about an NDIS assessment, our team is here to help. Get in touch at [email protected] or on 07 3532 5945.

An NDIS assessment is more than one report. It's about ensuring your everyday experiences are accurately reflected.

The most meaningful reports are built on real life examples, not just what you can do on your best day, but how your disability impacts your daily life, independence and participation.

Sharing both your strengths and the challenges you experience helps your Occupational Therapist develop a clearer understanding of your functional capacity, goals and support needs.

At Flexiwell, every report goes through a rigorous quality assurance process to ensure it is clear, comprehensive and a true representation of your individual circumstances.

With flexible delivery options including in home, in office, hybrid and virtual assessments, we make the process straightforward and accessible.

Navigating the NDIS assessment process can feel uncertain, particularly if it is your first Functional Capacity Assessment or your circumstances have changed.

A Functional Capacity Assessment is designed to understand how your disability impacts everyday activities, identify your strengths, recognise areas where you may need support, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations that reflect your individual needs and goals.

Every person is different. That's why our assessments are tailored to your unique circumstances, taking the time to understand what is important to you and how you live, work, learn and participate in your community.

Our experienced Occupational Therapists work collaboratively with participants, families and support teams to deliver comprehensive assessments that are practical, person-centred and aligned with NDIS requirements.

With flexible assessment options including in-home, clinic, hybrid and telehealth appointments, we aim to make the process as accessible, comfortable and straightforward as possible.

Your Strengths Matter Too

Assessments are not only about identifying challenges. They are about understanding the whole person and how they navigate daily life.

Independence looks different for everyone. It is shaped by environment, support needs, routines, and personal goals.

Strengths play an important role in this picture. They help inform more meaningful recommendations and support approaches that focus on building capacity in a way that is realistic and sustainable.

The focus is not only on limitations, but on participation, what is possible, and what supports ongoing capacity building in daily life. Understanding both strengths and challenges allows for more balanced and practical decision making.

At Flexiwell Group, we believe assessments should do more than “tick a box.”

They should help people understand:
What’s happening?
What risks need consideration?
What someone can realistically manage.
And what the next steps may look like.

That’s why our approach focuses on practical, human-centred assessment outcomes that support real decision-making across workplace, legal, insurance, and disability-related matters.

Complex situations are hard enough already. Clarity helps.

💡 Did you know?

An NDIS Functional Capacity Assessment isn't a test you can pass or fail.

It's simply a way of understanding how your disability impacts your daily life, what supports you're using, and where additional support may help you achieve your goals.

There are no right or wrong answers.

The more openly you share your day-to-day experiences, the more accurately your needs can be reflected in your report.

It’s one of the first questions we’re asked, and it makes sense.

When you’re waiting on NDIS supports, not knowing the timeline can feel really heavy.

At Flexiwell, we make this clear from the start. Based on your situation, we’ll guide you through a timeframe that fits:
🔸 Urgent – For time-sensitive cases (2 weeks)
🔸 Priority – Thorough, timely, and consistent (4 weeks)
🔸 Standard – When you’ve got time and want to plan ahead (6 weeks)

There isn’t one “standard” timeline, just what works best for your NDIS journey.

We’ll always be upfront about timing and keep you informed along the way, so you’re not left wondering what’s happening.

If you’re unsure what timeframe fits your situation, we’re here to talk it through.

Understanding your NDIS supports starts with understanding your own needs.

What helps you feel safe?
What tasks are becoming harder?
What support would make everyday life more manageable?

These conversations matter. Too often, people minimise their struggles because they’ve spent years “just coping.”

But your support needs deserve to be acknowledged properly. Advocating for yourself or someone you care for isn’t asking for too much.

It’s making sure the right supports are in place for everyday life.

Sometimes it’s the things people think are “too small” to mention that actually help paint the clearest picture of support needs.

Things like:
✔️ Needing reminders to eat
✔️ Struggling with laundry or shopping
✔️ Avoiding appointments due to overwhelm
✔️ Needing help organising medication
✔️ Feeling unsafe in the shower

These details matter because they reflect the real impact disability can have on everyday life.

You should never feel like your daily experiences are “not serious enough” to mention.
