This World Breastfeeding Week we’re celebrating the important role breastfeeding and infant feeding support play in the health and wellbeing of families.

Every feeding journey is unique, and parents can experience many different challenges along the way. Having the right support can make a meaningful difference, whether you’re preparing for breastfeeding, navigating feeding difficulties, or simply looking for guidance.

At Neighbourhood Medical, Dr Mairaed and Dr Katie are both parents of young children and have a special interest, along with additional training, in supporting families with infant feeding and baby sleep concerns.

If you’d like support with feeding, sleep or your baby’s health, book an appointment with Neighbourhood Medical.

We couldn’t ❤️ this post more.
So many people feel invalidated when their very real pain is not reflected in what’s seen on a scan or at surgery.

Understanding the things that trigger and amplify YOUR pain is a personal journey, and things can truly change for the better once you find your team and the tools that work for you.

Find out more about how we can help at

https://www.neighbourhoodpelvicpain.com.au/

Endometriosis pain doesn’t always match what’s seen on scans or during surgery.

Pain levels are not a reliable indicator of how “mild” or “severe” endometriosis is, and this can be incredibly validating for those living with symptoms that feel out of proportion to what they’ve been told.

Pain is influenced by many factors, including:
• nerve involvement
• inflammation levels
• central sensitisation (how the nervous system processes pain over time)
• individual pain sensitivity and nervous system response

This is why two people with endometriosis can have completely different pain experiences, regardless of stage or visible disease.

Your pain is real, even when it isn’t fully explained by what’s been seen or measured.

Have you ever felt like your pain didn’t match what you were told?
