LION’S MANE

Looking for a little more clarity, focus and brain-loving support in your day?

Meet Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) — a remarkable functional mushroom that has been valued in traditional Asian practices for centuries and is now attracting plenty of attention for its potential role in supporting cognitive and nervous system health. It is beneficial as it:

✨ Supports cognitive health & mental performance
✨ Supports focus, concentration & mental clarity
✨ Provides antioxidant compounds
✨ Traditionally valued for general vitality & wellbeing
✨ A beautiful addition to a brain-health focused routine

I particularly love Lion’s Mane because supporting the brain isn’t just about memory — it’s about nurturing the nervous system, good nutrition, sleep, movement, circulation and healthy daily habits.

Our Love Herbals Lion’s Mane makes it easy to incorporate this fascinating mushroom into your wellness routine.

Ancient wisdom. Modern interest. Brain-loving goodness.

Always check suitability with your healthcare practitioner, particularly if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have mushroom allergies, or are undergoing medical treatment.

HERB OF THE WEEK — LEMON VERBENA 🌿

This week in the Love Herbals Witches Apothecary, we’re celebrating the beautifully fragrant Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora) — a herb that feels like sunshine in plant form.

Fresh, lemony and uplifting, Lemon Verbena has traditionally been enjoyed to support digestion, relaxation and nervous-system wellbeing. But I also love the symbolism behind this gorgeous herb: clarity, joy, renewal and fresh beginnings.

This week’s Plant Magic

We’ve created two beautiful ways to get to know Lemon Verbena beyond simply making a cup of tea.

🍪 Kitchen Witch Recipe — Lemon Verbena Shortbread
Delicate buttery shortbread infused with Lemon Verbena and fresh lemon zest. Perfect alongside herbal tea, shared with friends or tucked into a little gift box.

DIY Activity — Lemon Verbena Sunshine Bath Soak
A gorgeous botanical blend of Lemon Verbena, Chamomile, Calendula and mineral salts designed to turn an ordinary bath into a slow, intentional self-care ritual.

The intention for this week:

“I choose calm, clarity and peace.
I release, I restore, I begin again.”

I particularly love the idea of choosing an intention while working with your herbs. It doesn’t need to be complicated or overly mystical — sometimes the magic is simply taking time to make something with your hands, enjoying the fragrance of the plants and remembering to slow down.

🌿 Brew the tea.
🍪 Bake something beautiful.
🛁 Run the bath.
🕯️ Light the candle.
💚 And give yourself permission to enjoy the ritual.

That’s what our Love Herbals Witches Apothecary is really about — bringing traditional herbal wisdom back into everyday life in beautiful, practical ways.

Herb of the Week — Lemon Verbena

Aloysia citrodora

Herbal Wisdom

Lemon Verbena is a wonderfully fragrant herb with an intense fresh lemon aroma. Traditionally enjoyed as a tea and digestive herb, it has also been valued for its gently calming qualities.

There is something about Lemon Verbena that feels like opening the windows on a beautiful spring morning — fresh, clear and optimistic.

Traditionally Used To

🌿 Support healthy digestion and ease digestive discomfort
🍋 Provide gentle relaxation and nervous-system support
🌿 Support wellbeing during periods of stress
🍋 Traditionally used after meals as a digestive tea
🌿 Encourage restful relaxation
🍋 Provide aromatic support during seasonal discomfort

Energetic Properties

Clarity • Joy • Purification • Peace • Creativity • Renewal

For the Witches Apothecary side, I particularly like Lemon Verbena for clearing stagnant energy and setting fresh intentions. It gives us a lighter kind of magic than Yarrow’s protection and boundaries.

Plant Wisdom

“Release what has grown heavy. Make room for light, possibility and a fresh beginning.”

Intention

“I release what I no longer need and welcome clarity, joy and new beginnings.”

Ways to Use It

Tea and herbal infusions, iced tea, culinary syrups, desserts, herbal baths, potpourri, botanical sachets and aromatic rituals all work beautifully.

💚 A lovely addition when reducing or quitting to***co

Sometimes changing an old habit is easier when you have a new ritual to replace it with. Instead of reaching for the usual cigarette, make a cup, slow down, breathe deeply and give yourself those few quiet minutes.

Small changes. New rituals. One breath at a time. 🌿

🌿 Herb of the Week

Yarrow

Achillea millefolium

Yarrow is one of my favourite herbs because it beautifully bridges traditional herbal medicine, first aid, women’s health, digestive wellness, and folklore. It also has a fascinating history and stunning flowers, making it perfect for your Love Herbals Witches Apothecary series.

🌿 Herbal Wisdom

Known as the Warrior’s Herb, Yarrow has been treasured for thousands of years. Legend tells us that the Greek hero Achilles used yarrow to care for the wounds of his soldiers, giving rise to its botanical name Achillea.

Today, herbalists continue to value yarrow for its traditional use in supporting healthy circulation, digestion, skin care, and seasonal wellness.

🌿 Traditionally Used To

🌼 Traditionally support wound healing and skin recovery

🌼 Promote healthy digestion

🌼 Encourage perspiration during colds and fevers

🌼 Traditionally support menstrual comfort

Yarrow has tiny fern-like leaves, which inspired its species name millefolium, meaning “a thousand leaves.” Its clusters of flowers attract bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects, making it a wonderful addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.

🌿 Plant Wisdom

“Yarrow teaches us that true strength comes from healthy boundaries. Like its deep roots and resilient flowers, we can remain open-hearted while protecting our own wellbeing.”

✨ Affirmation

“I stand strong in my truth. My boundaries protect my peace, and my heart remains open to growth and healing.”
