🥞🍄 GF BRUNCH DATE AT COCO & GROVE, KEDRON 🍄🥞

If you're looking for a lovely brunch spot in Brisbane, Coco & Grove in Kedron is definitely worth a visit! ✨

My friend and I stopped in for brunch and enjoyed sitting outside under the covered area while catching up over good food and coffee. It had such a relaxed, welcoming vibe ☕💛

I ordered the Gluten-Free Ricotta Pancakes topped with warm apple & cinnamon compote and crushed meringue. I swapped the coconut ice cream for regular ice cream due to my coconut allergy, and they were absolutely delicious! The pancakes had a beautiful fluffy texture and the apple and cinnamon flavours were the perfect combination 🥞🍎

My friend had the Cowboy Buttered Mushrooms, which featured a mix of mushrooms served over crispy twice-cooked potatoes and covered in cowboy butter. This was such a comforting dish and packed with flavour 🍄🥔

I had a chai latte while my friend enjoyed a latte. The perfect accompaniment to a relaxed brunch catch-up ☕

As someone with coeliac disease, I was really pleased that the staff were coeliac aware when ordering and happy to discuss the gluten-free options available. That extra level of understanding always makes dining out a much more enjoyable experience. 😊
Overall, we had a lovely morning and would happily visit again!

🍌🍎 Today's gluten-free baking experiment was a winner! 🍞✨

I turned a box of Green's Gluten Free Apple & Cinnamon Muffin Mix into a delicious banana bread, using 3 ripe bananas and finished it with a cinnamon sugar topping before baking. The smell in the kitchen was amazing! 🤤

Recipe:
✅ 1 box Green's Gluten Free Apple & Cinnamon Muffin Mix
✅ 3 ripe bananas, mashed
✅ 2 eggs
✅ ¼ cup melted ghee (or vegetable oil)
✅ ¼ cup water

Method:
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced).
Grease or line a loaf tin.
Mash bananas in a bowl.
Add eggs, ghee and water, then mix well.
Stir through the muffin mix until combined (not too much mixing).
Pour into loaf tin.
Sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
Cool before slicing.

Soft, moist, packed with banana flavour and the apple-cinnamon combo works so well! 🍌🍎✨

Gluten free Nodo Everton Park ✨

I popped in for some lunch with a friend on the weekend, and tried their NEW basque cheesecake brownie and it did not disappoint!!

I also tried their white chocolate iced chai latte and damn it was good 🤤

And of course got my usual go-to smoked chicken toastie with the pickles 😆

I can't recommend this coeliac safe cafe enough ✨

If you’re gluten free or coeliac and haven’t been to Nodo yet… this is your sign 👏

Everything in store is completely gluten free and coeliac safe, and honestly it’s one of the few places where you can just walk in and order without the stress!

Their donuts are obviously iconic, but I love that they have so much more than sweets too. The smoked chicken toastie with pickles is my favourite thing on the menu at the moment 🤤

They also have:
🥗 Ready made meals like gochujang lasagna, miso goma chicken & chicken caesar salad
🥯 Fresh breads, sesame buns & bagel buns
🍫 Brownies, slices, banana bread, cheesecakes & donuts
☕ Coffee & tea, matcha and freshly made shakes

It’s the kind of place where you go in for one thing, and leave with half the store 😂
I also love that each Nodo location has different menu options, so it’s always worth checking out different stores around Brisbane! 👀

Today is International Coeliac Disease Awareness Day 💛

As part of coeliac awareness month, today is a day to raise awareness, support those living gluten free for medical reasons, and remind people that coeliac disease is more than just avoiding bread.

For many coeliacs, eating safely means constantly checking labels, asking questions, avoiding cross contamination, and navigating situations most people never have to think twice about.

This day is about visibility, understanding, safer spaces, and making the gluten free community feel a little less alone ✨
