The only way to get better at live performance is to practise live performance! It's a lived skill that a good speaker and performer goes through to gain adversity.
Classic example from my show today at the markets - many factors went wrong but we persisted and it ended up being a fun day out.
Here's some of the things that happened ;
The location changed - I was moved to a completely new area I wasn't used to from previous shows.
The pickup on my instrument was faulty- I had to do the whole show on my backup instrument that was in the wrong key, so used a kapo to fix it.
The Bluetooth on my amp was faulty -
I had to find an auxiliary cable 😩, but with some quick thinking it resolved the issue in minutes.
All of this could have knocked someone if it was their first performance! This is why it's great to practise.
Have you had any problems you've had to overcome at a show, facilitation or workshop?
