Here’s a tiny peek at our Prep and Year 2 literacy intensives! 📚

Lara and Bonnie ran this 4 day intensive at our home-based clinic in Indooroopilly (Erin snuck in for one session each, but it was all L&B this round!).

Everything we do is evidence-based, with Sounds-Write as the foundation of all our literacy intervention. The intensive format means kids get lots of practice over consecutive days, so new skills stick and they build real momentum and confidence in a short time.

One of our new kids told us “I thought this was going to be for little kids but it’s actually really cool” and honestly that made our week 🥹

Reading should be fun for every kid. If your child finds it hard, avoids it or gets upset about it, that’s worth paying attention to, and we’d love to help.

Thank you to our beautiful families who trust us time and time again with their little people.

DM us or email [email protected] to hear about our next intensive.

Also, shout out to LSKD for their “gym and exercise shirt”. It’s the only one she’ll wear when doing exercise 😂😂😂

A free one-page checklist for kindy classrooms — the red flags we most often see get missed, in plain English, no diagnosing required. Two or more categories ticked, most days, for a few weeks? Worth a chat. DM "REDFLAGS" for the download. 📋

If your child is in Prep or Grade 1, this one's for you.

Decodable readers are one of the most important tools for learning to read — but they can be hard to find, and even harder to know where to start.

Here are five completely free options that are actually good. Save this post and come back to it.

Next week we're sharing the ones worth spending a little money on — but honestly, start here first.

I've been a speech pathologist for long enough to know that the gap between uni and real practice is bigger than anyone tells you.

Not because the training is bad. Because clients are complicated, families are scared, and no lecture can fully prepare you for the moment someone looks at you and needs you to know what to do.

This series is my attempt to fill some of those gaps. Practical, honest, no fluff.

Follow along if that sounds useful. 📌

A friendly winter reminder 💚

If your little one is unwell, please let us know as early as possible. It helps protect our team, other families, and keeps therapy running smoothly for everyone.

A huge thank you to our beautiful families who have been so understanding over the last few weeks while I’ve been riding what feels like an endless stream of winter viruses.

Signed,

A speech pathologist currently losing her third battle with winter… and it’s only day two 🫠

Half marathon day for Lara & Amanda 🤍

Wishing these two the absolute best as they take on the Noosa Half Marathon today. We’re so proud of you both for setting a big goal and showing up for yourselves alongside everything you do for your families, team, and clients each week.

Can’t wait to hear all about it afterwards 🫶

🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️ you’ll find zero aesthetic content here. This is my (Erin’s) reality of being a mum running a business from under my house 😂🤍

My forever hope is that families walk into our space and know pretty quickly that we’re real people over here, they are welcome and they are supported.

Some mornings are calm.

Some mornings involve leftover breakfast on my shoulder, a bomb-site backyard, reheated coffee, and vacuuming 30 seconds before someone walks through the door 🫠

I think that’s part of why families feel comfortable here.

There’s no judgement.

There’s no expectations for perfection.

Just real life, real kids, and real people supporting real families🤍

The car is one of our favourite underrated language settings. 🚗

You’ve got a window full of things to talk about.

“Stop… go! Big red truck!”

Colours. Opposites. Observations. Simple words. Real moments.

Use the commute. Use the school run. Use the five minute trip to the shops.

It all adds up. 💛
