World Humanitarian Day π
Today we honour the ones who show up.
In crises. In conflict. In communities.
Aid workers. First responders. Healthcare heroes. Volunteers. People who give their time, energy, and hearts so someone else can keep going.
OT belongs in this story too. π§
When disaster strips away routine, mobility, or independence β OTs help people rebuild the small daily acts that make life feel like life again. Getting dressed. Cooking a meal. Caring for a child. Returning to work.
The OT hack: in a crisis, "recovery" isn't just survival β it's function. Ask not just "are they safe?" but "can they still do the things that make them who they are?" That question is where occupational therapy starts.
Humanity doesn't stop in a crisis. Neither does the need to live fully. π
To every humanitarian worker: we see you. We thank you. We stand with you.
