GLP-1 medications (originally used for type 2 diabetes) are now often prescribed for weight management.
They work by mimicking a natural hormone that helps regulate blood sugar, slow digestion and increase the feeling of fullness.
While GLP-1 medications are not fertility medications, they may support reproductive health, especially in PCOS where insulin resistance can disrupt hormones and ovulation. By improving insulin sensitivity and blood sugar control, they may help with;

- More regular cycles and ovulation
-Lower androgen levels
-A healthier metabolic profile before conception

While they may be useful before trying to conceive, they ARE NOT considered safe during pregnancy- due to limited human safety data. If you are planning pregnancy or IVF it is important to work with your specialist to decide the right time to stop treatment and ensure a safe and supported transition.
