Heart of Australia is a rural health program that embodies the most innovative approach to frontline specialist medical service delivery. Heart of Australia delivers monthly specialist medical investigation and treatment clinics to rural and remote communities across Queensland - breaking the grip of distance that denies rural and remote-area Australians easy access to specialist services. Currently operating in Queensland with a planned expansion to other states in the foreseeable future.

Another 66 men participated in our Mobile PSA Blood Testing Program last week across rural and remote Queensland!

Visiting Springsure, Rolleston, Blackall and Goondiwindi, our clinical team - alongside our Program Partners It's a Bloke Thing - covered some serious ground to ensure country men in these regions had the chance to access a PSA test in their own backyard.

A big thank you to Queensland Health for supporting the expansion of this service into Central Queensland.

What a special few weeks spent in Galiwin'ku on Elcho Island bringing the community mobile lung cancer screening services for The National Lung Cancer Screening Program. Getting to meet so many of the local community members was a highlight for our team, and a great reminder of why every rural and remote community - whether in the outback or separated by sea - deserves equitable access to lifesaving healthcare.

A big thank you to Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation for their support in getting the clinic up and running.

It’s moments like this as the sun rises over HEART 7 on route from Port Hedland to Nanutarra that the vastness of our beautiful country sinks in.

This 417km stretch of road is our main connection as we make our way from coastal Exmouth, inland to Tom Price and onto Paraburdoo to deliver more lung cancer screening clinics for the The National Lung Cancer Screening Program.

HEART 2 has been visiting Southern Queensland communities every month since 2018. This close up of the PACCAR Kenworth K200 Prime Mover gives you a glimpse of some of our partners who each play a role in keeping us on the road!

We have seen such an overwhelming positive response to our Mobile PSA Program with It's a Bloke Thing Foundation and are proud to have tested 475 rural men already. Together, we’re bringing healthcare to those who need it most.
