It feels like it's been a little while since we've shared a practice update... not intentional, we promise! 😅 Time has a funny way of getting away from us.

Although they've already been part of the team for months, we'd love to officially welcome Dr Mark Tsien and Dr Amelia Tong to the practice! We're so happy to have them on board and many of you have already had the chance to meet them.

We also have some wonderful news - Dr Lauren Melville is returning from maternity leave! Yay!! Lauren will be back with us on Monday mornings and we're so excited to have her smiling face back in the clinic.

A quick heads-up: Lauren's appointments will be limited to begin with, so if you're hoping to book in with her, we really appreciate your patience while we do our best to accommodate everyone.

For those planning ahead:

- Dr Mark Tsien consults all day Tuesdays, Fridays and rostered Saturdays

- Dr Amelia Tong consults all day Fridays and rostered Saturdays.

- Dr Lauren Melville consults Monday mornings and rostered Saturdays.

You may have seen the government’s recent campaign encouraging GPs to move towards a full bulk billing model.

At Seven Hills Family Doctors, we’d like to reassure our patients that while we continue to bulk bill children aged 5 years and under on weekdays, we will be remaining a private billing practice.

This decision ensures that our doctors can continue providing high-quality, personalised care - care that allows time to listen, diagnose thoroughly, and support your health and wellbeing without compromise.

While we welcome the government’s efforts to improve access to healthcare, the current rebates and incentives still do not reflect the true cost of delivering safe, comprehensive, and sustainable medical care.

We want you to know this decision has been made thoughtfully, with the long-term interests of our patients and team in mind. We truly appreciate your understanding, kindness, and continued trust in our care. 💙

Dear patients,

We are introducing Quick Consults for repeat prescriptions!

Your GP usually prefers face-to-face appointments for most matters, including prescriptions, but we understand that life gets busy and coming into the practice isn’t always easy.

That’s why we’ve introduced Quick Consults via HotDoc.

Here’s how it works:
- You can request your regular prescription directly from your regular GP.
- This saves time by avoiding back-and-forth messages with reception.

Your request goes straight to your GP, who will:
• Action your request and send via eScript, OR
• Send a direct message back if a face-to-face appointment (or other follow-up) is required.

This ensures a smoother workflow for the practice while maintaining the safety of your ongoing care.

Please note:
- This service is for ongoing, regular prescriptions only - some medications types may need an appointment.
The cost is $35 + surcharge.

Just log into HotDoc app, click on online services & click on repeat prescription. If your GP isn’t showing on the list, they may not be participating as yet or they could be away.
