🎉 100 PT SESSIONS! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Peta & Nick on hitting 100 PT sessions with us at SCHAF! 💪🔥

You guys always show up with a smile and give 110% in every session. You put in the rehab, do the work, and come back stronger each time 👊

We’re so grateful to have you both as part of the SCHAF community and can’t wait to see what’s next.

Here’s to the next 100! 🥂🔥

We’ve got an important question for the SCHAF crew… Which one is WORSE?

SkiErg 🥵
Rower 🚣🚣🏻‍♀️

You know the feeling… legs burning, lungs screaming and questioning every life decision you’ve ever made 😂

But which one would you rather avoid?

Cast your votes on the board (white board marker on desk)

Feel free to tell us why you picked it. We’re ready for the arguments! 👀

Bursitis (often shoulder/subacromial bursitis) is inflammation or irritation of the bursa a small, fluid-filled sac that cushions and reduces friction between the rotator cuff tendons and the acromion (bony tip of the shoulder blade).

Symptoms:
- Pain on the outside of the shoulder, especially with overhead movements, reaching, or lying on the affected side.
- Swelling, stiffness, reduced range of motion, and weakness.
- Pain may worsen at night or after repetitive activity.

Causes & Risk Factors
Commonly caused by overuse/repetitive overhead motions (e.g., painting, throwing, swimming), poor posture, rotator cuff issues, impingement, trauma, or muscle weakness/imbalance. More common in adults over 30.

Prevention:
- Warm up properly before activities and avoid sudden increases in repetitive overhead work.
- Maintain good posture and shoulder mechanics.
- Strengthen rotator cuff and scapular stabilizers; stretch regularly.
- Use proper technique/ergonomics in sports or work; modify activities to reduce strain.

24/07/2026

Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis or lateral epicondylopathy) is an overuse injury involving irritation, microtears, or degeneration of the tendons (primarily the extensor carpi radialis brevis) that attach the forearm muscles to the bony bump on the outside of the elbow.

Symptoms:
- Pain and tenderness on the outer elbow, which may radiate into the forearm and wrist.
- Pain worsens with gripping, lifting, wrist extension, twisting (e.g., turning a doorknob), or repetitive forearm use.
- Weakened grip strength and stiffness.

Causes & Risk Factors
Repetitive wrist extension, gripping, or forearm activities (e.g., tennis backhand, painting, typing, plumbing). Poor technique, weak muscles, improper equipment, or sudden increases in activity contribute. Common in ages 30–50; not limited to tennis players.

Prevention:
- Use proper technique and ergonomics in sports/work; gradually increase activity.
- Strengthen forearm, wrist, and shoulder muscles; maintain flexibility.
- Use appropriate equipment (e.g., larger grip, lower string tension in racquets).
- Take breaks, warm up, and avoid repetitive strain.
