Natural Medicine Week, 25 – 31 May 2026, aims to promote, educate and raise awareness of the important role natural medicine practitioners play in the health and wellbeing of Australians.
Naturopathy is an important component of alternative and complementary medicine in Australia and contributes to the health care system through its emphasis on preventive, holistic, and patient-centred care.
It is commonly used in the management of chronic and lifestyle-related conditions, with research suggesting that more than 1.5 million Australians consult a naturopath each year. Naturopathic practitioners provide evidence-informed guidance on the pillars of health, nutrition, stress management, sleep, and physical activity, thereby supporting health promotion and disease prevention. As part of the broader complementary medicine sector, naturopathy may also assist in reducing pressure on conventional health services and improving access to care, particularly within rural and regional communities.
At Glow Naturopathy, we emphasize the integral role of naturopathic practices in health promotion and disease prevention.
