Had a vasectomy? Don’t skip this important step. 👇

A semen examination is the only way to confirm your vasectomy was successful and that no s***m remain in your semen.

Even after the procedure, s***m can still be present for weeks or months, which means pregnancy is still possible without proper follow-up testing.

🔬 What the test checks:
• Whether s***m are still present
• If any s***m are moving (motile)
• When it’s safe to stop using other contraception

⏳ Most men are tested around 8–12 weeks after their vasectomy — timing and results matter.

Don’t guess. Get tested and be sure. ✔️

When it comes to permanent birth control, should it be her procedure or his? 🤔

Tubal ligation and vasectomy are both highly effective but they’re not the same.

🔹 Tubal Ligation (for women)
• Involves surgery to block or seal the fallopian tubes
• Usually done under general anaesthetic
• Longer recovery time
• More complex and higher cost

🔹 Vasectomy (for men)
• A quick, minimally invasive procedure
• Done under local anaesthetic
• Short recovery (often just a few days)
• Lower risk and more affordable

Both options are over 99% effective—but a vasectomy is generally simpler, safer, and easier to recover from.

👉 So if you're deciding as a couple, it’s worth having the conversation together.
