We asked ourselves one big question:

How can we make travel experiences even more immersive for people in aged care?

The answer led us to completely redesign the Olive Express experience from the ground up.

We have some unbelievable news! 🎉

Kim and I, with Olive Express, have been named finalists in the 2026 Lord Mayor’s Business Awards!

We honestly didn’t expect this, and we’re still taking it all in. To be recognised alongside so many wonderful Brisbane businesses is such a huge honour.

Olive Express is about making a real difference, and this recognition shows us that the impact we’re working so hard to create is being seen.

We are incredibly proud—and so grateful to everyone who has supported us and shared this journey. 💚

For the past eight months, Olive Express has been working with the Computer Science Department at the University of Queensland on an exciting evolution in immersive experiences for aged care.

Together, we’ve been exploring how technology and real-world aged-care experience can create more meaningful moments for older people.

In five days, we’ll finally show you what we’ve been working on.

Something very exciting is coming to Olive Express.
We’re getting ready to unveil the next evolution in immersive experiences for aged care.
This is much more than an upgrade to our existing experience. We’ve developed a completely new, purpose-designed immersive room, created specifically with aged care in mind.
It brings together everything we’ve learned over the years — along with a completely new concept and design.

We're thrilled to announce a partnership with Regis Aged Care and Olive Express.

Over the next six months, Olive Express will deliver more than 6,000 hours of evidence-based, immersive engagement to residents and their families across Regis communities.

Every session is shared. Families participate. Staff see the difference. Residents reconnect with the world.

It's about measurable outcomes. University of Queensland research shows residents experience improved mood, deeper social connection, and enhanced engagement with cognitive decline support.

Olive Express was the only aged care business at the Queensland Social Enterprise Awards on Friday night. Good company to keep, in a room full of social enterprises doing real work across health, education, food security and community services.

On top of it, we picked up finalist recognition in the One to Watch category. Thanks to the Queensland Social Enterprise Council for putting the night together and backing social enterprise across the state.
