🩸 Living with diabetes? When did you last have your regular checks?

Managing diabetes isn’t just about checking your blood glucose. Regular reviews with your GP can help show how well your diabetes is being controlled and identify potential complications early.

As a general guide, your diabetes care may include:

HbA1c – usually every 3–6 months to check your average blood glucose levels

Blood pressure – at least every 6 months, and often at each diabetes review

Cholesterol & blood fats – usually every 12 months

Kidney health – blood and urine tests generally every 12 months

Foot check – at least every 12 months, or more often if you have foot problems or increased risk

Diabetes eye check – generally every 1–2 years, depending on your individual risk and previous results

Medication & overall diabetes review – regularly with your GP to make sure your treatment is still working well for you

Your individual schedule may be different depending on your results, medications and overall health, so always follow the advice of your healthcare team.

🌸 Are you due for your Cervical Screening Test?

Regular cervical screening is one of the best ways to protect yourself against cervical cancer by detecting HPV and identifying changes early — often before any symptoms develop.

For most women and people with a cervix aged 25–74, cervical screening is recommended every 5 years.

You may also have the option to self-collect your own vaginal sample for HPV testing. Speak with your GP about whether self-collection is suitable for you.
