It can take a lot of courage & vulnerability for someone to see a psychologist. On the one hand people often know they need or should see a psych. Yet on the other hand there are often misconceptions about what seeing a psych is like, difficulty in knowing how to find a psych, not a lot of information on the ways to make it more affordable, & the myth that you only see a psych when things aren't great.

In my most recent podcast with we explore all things about finding & seeing a psychologist.

Among other things we discuss:
🔸referral options in Australia, & options to make therapy more affordable
🔸how to find the right psychologist for you
🔸the difference between psychiatrists, psychologists, & counsellors
🔸what to expect in sessions
🔸why the "click" or "fit" with your psychologist is so important
🔸clarifying the whole psychologist sofa/couch mystery you see in movies 😋

Last week I attended & presented at The Society of Australasian Social Psychologists (SASP) conference. It was a great experience to present alongside peers of whom I look up to, & to also receive constructive feedback on my PhD progress & plans.

As I start to head towards pmy second study, I'm looking forward to sharing more on the topic of leadership in group exercise 🏋🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️👩🏻‍🎓

I recently chatted with Tegan & Alex from . While focused on helping people in how they relate to their bodies, nutrition, & movement, the podcast also aims to illustrate how these aspects may have been influenced by those closest to us, & in turn how we can change & model our health to positively influence the next generation.

We dove deep into the common mindset blocks around exercise, discussed how our early observations & experiences of movement can really set the tone for our relationship with exercise as an adult, & practical takeaways to help those who know it is their mind that gets in the way of their movement.

Thank you & for the opportunity to talk all things exercise psychology ☺️
