Upper Cervical care is based on the universal law of case and effect. For every effect or symptom, physical or mental, there must be a cause. Upper Cervical doctors focus on locating and removing interference to the nervous system that can be the cause of the health condition. Removing this interference allows the body to heal itself naturally without drugs or surgery. An Upper Cervical correction is very controlled. There is no pulling, tugging or jerking of the head. This precise yet gentle touch allows the head, neck and spine to return to the proper position, thus removing the interference and restoring balance to the body. POTS and Upper Cervical Care at Atlas Health

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) affects the body’s ability to regulate heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation when moving from lying to standing.

Many people living with POTS experience dizziness, fatigue, brain fog, headaches, neck tension, and difficulty maintaining daily activities.

At Atlas Health, we take a precise, upper cervical approach that focuses on restoring balance to the nervous system so the body can function at its best. The upper cervical spine; particularly the atlas (C1) plays a key role in how the brainstem regulates autonomic functions such as heart rate, blood vessel tone, and blood flow to the head.

Even small misalignments in the upper cervical region can affect:

• Blood flow between the brain and body

• Communication within the autonomic nervous system

• Balance, coordination, and postural stability

• The body’s ability to adapt to positional changes

For some people with POTS, these factors can contribute to symptom intensity and frequency.

Our Approach Atlas Health provides:

• Precise Blair Upper Cervical care using detailed imaging and gentle corrections

• A whole health lens, supporting sleep, hydration, movement, and nervous‑system regulation

• Individualised care plans based on your unique structural and neurological findings

• A calm, supportive environment designed to help your body settle and heal

Upper cervical care for many people can become an important part of improving stability, reducing symptom load, and supporting a more active, sustainable lifestyle.

Who This May Help People experiencing:

• Dizziness or light‑headedness

• Neck instability or tension

• Head pressure or headaches

• Fatigue and brain fog

• Difficulty with postural changes

If you’re navigating POTS and looking for a gentle, precise approach that supports your whole health, we are here to help you understand what’s happening in your upper cervical spine and how it may be influencing your symptoms.

For many people, lower back surgery feels like the final answer, the last resort after months or years of pain, sciatica, or disc degeneration.

But what happens when the surgery doesn’t work? When the pain returns, or never truly settles?

It’s more common than most realise. And often, the reason isn’t actually in the lower back.
At Atlas Health, we see a consistent pattern: long‑standing lower back problems frequently begin as compensation for an upper cervical misalignment. When the atlas and axis shift out of normal alignment, the body adapts to keep the head level.

Those compensations travel downward, through the shoulders, pelvis, and ultimately the lower spine.

If a surgeon repairs a disc or decompresses a nerve, the underlying structural imbalance may remain. The body continues to pull, twist, and compensate and the lower back continues to suffer.

This is where upper cervical care becomes relevant.

By correcting the primary structural shift at the top of the spine, the body can finally stop over‑compensating. Muscles relax. Posture rebalances. Nerve tension decreases. And the lower back is no longer forced to carry a burden it was never designed to carry.

Upper cervical care is not a treatment for failed surgery, it is a method of restoring the body’s ability to function and heal. For people who feel like they’ve “tried everything,” including surgery, this deeper perspective often brings clarity and hope.

If your lower back pain continues despite surgery, it may be time to look higher. The real problem might be at the very top of your spine, where your body’s entire structural and neurological balance begins.

Because the upper cervical spine houses the neurological pathways that coordinate postural tone throughout the entire body, even a small misalignment at the top can create global compensations that no amount of local lower‑back intervention, including surgery can fully resolve.

Your journey back to health can start with understanding the true root cause behind the symptoms. Make your health a priority.

Not all Chiropractic Care is the same.

Blair Chiropractic is a Specialised Upper Cervical Technique that focuses on precise, gentle adjustments tailored to your unique spinal structure.

Unlike traditional Chiropractic methods, which often involve forceful manipulations across the entire spine, Blair Chiropractic prioritises individualised imaging in the first visit, to detect misalignments in the Upper Cervical spine and correct them with minimal pressure.

Key Differences

➕Blair Chiropractic: Uses detailed imaging to customise adjustments, focusing on the Upper Cervical spine for long-term relief.

➕Regular Chiropractic: Often involves full-spine adjustments with more generalised techniques.

If you’re looking for a gentle, targeted approach to spinal health, Blair Chiropractic might be the results you're looking for.

The Vagus nerve plays a crucial role in your body, serving as a key communicator between your brain and every vital organ, including:

Heart + Lungs + Digestive System + Reproductive System + All glands (e.g., Thyroid, Adrenals, etc.)

When facing health issues, we often concentrate on the areas where we feel symptoms. For instance, if we have digestive concerns, we may think we need to adjust our diet or consult a gastroenterologist. While it's essential to rule out any serious conditions and recognise that diet is a significant factor, another critical aspect that can impact our body's functionality is a misalignment at the base of our neck. The C1 vertebra, also known as the atlas, is responsible for supporting the weight of your head. It is unique in your spine as it lacks a disc that secures it in place, making it the proverbial weak link in the chain.

This means that even without visible injuries like broken bones, bleeding, or bruising, a physical impact can lead to misalignment of this particular vertebra. Even a slight misalignment of just 2mm, though it may seem minor, can result in the atlas becoming locked in an abnormal position, which can disrupt the function of your Vagus nerve and impact your overall health. How does this happen?

The Vagus nerve originates at the base of your brainstem right at the level of the C1 vertebra, then extends down to all your vital organs, passing along the front of the cervical vertebrae. This is crucial to understand because many common activities - such as sitting, standing, sleeping, texting, typing, reading, and writing, often cause our heads to lean forward. This forward tilt can compress the atlas against the vagus nerve. One can compare this situation to having a small pebble in one's shoe: although the pebble is minor in size, its persistent friction against the foot can lead to considerable discomfort over time.

The relationship between your atlas and Vagus nerve follows the same principle.

Upper Cervical Clinic -
One of only 3 Australia Wide.

Inflammation is good when it’s happening to help the body heal. But chronic inflammation can cause pain instead of helping to eliminate it. There are many different causes of chronic inflammation, including diet, bone misalignment, arthritis, stress, lack of sleep, and obesity.

Different chiropractic modalities can deal with all of these underlying causes in different ways, helping reduce chronic inflammation & the pain that comes with it.

One of the things that makes a Blair Upper Cervical doctor different from other forms of healthcare & even other forms of chiropractic is the use of customised x-ray images that show the exact direction and degree of any misalignments in your neck.

Unlike a standard x-ray, CT, or MRI scan, which only show things in two dimensions, the architecture of your spine is three dimensional.

Atlas Health Australia is the premier clinic for Blair Upper Cervical chiropractic care in Australia. Conveniently located halfway between the Brisbane C*D & the Sunshine Coast.

Book online or call us today to make your appointment. Our Dr is committed to your long term health + wellness.

When it comes to a symptom such as tinnitus, it can be especially difficult finding what the underlying cause actually is.

Brain MRIs usually come back as normal. Hearing or audiology tests also usually come back as pretty close to normal, not exactly enough to cause the persistent noise in your ears.
