Directions Website

Blue Hope provides much needed support for the mental health of current and former police officers. Raise awareness about Police su***de.
2.

Moved by the loss of too many colleagues to su***de, the charity Directors have decided to do something about it. Blue HOPE (Helping Out Police Everywhere) was created to achieve four key aims:
1. Research how other jurisdictions globally combat the issue.
3. Create an anonymous hotline for former and current officers.
4. Conduct outreach and become a constant voice that reminds officers that help is only a phone call away. YOU DO NOT NEED TO CONFRONT YOUR PROBLEMS ALONE. FEEL FREE TO PERSONALLY MESSAGE BLUE HOPE WITH ANY QUERIES OR CONCERNS...

Gold Coast Wellbeing Week is an initiative proudly run by the Gold Coast Su***de Prevention Collaborative and runs this year from 7th to 13th of September 2026. It features seven days of events across the Gold Coast focused on mental health, physical movement, and social connection.

The Gold Coast Su***de Prevention Community Collaborative was formed at the beginning of 2024 by individuals and organisations, government and non-government, committed to reducing the incidence and impact of su***de in the Gold Coast region.

With one of our primary outreach volunteers, Heidi, being the QPS Mental Health Intervention Co-ordinator (MHIC) for the Gold Coast District (GCD), it provided an opportunity for us to contribute to the week by hosting a BBQ breakfast for the GCD Southern Patrol Group (SPG) this morning at Palm Beach Police Station. It was also particularly useful that another principal volunteer, Brad, could offer access to his stations BBQ 😉

Considering the operational demand on the Gold Coast, even at 6.30 am, it was awesome
that the 40 bacon and egg wraps were snapped up quickly, and even more importantly we all got to stop and spend half an hour talking about something which has affected us all directly or indirectly, and may well do so in the future.

Thanks to everyone who could attend, and thanks to Brad, Heidi and Paul for volunteering your time again.

Message as always - speak up, get help , please 🙏🏼

The other day we lost a giant. Not just in stature or voice, though he had both, but in spirit. He walked into a room and the room came alive. Loud laugh, bigger heart, opinions that could fill the hall and a loyalty that never wavered.

If he was your friend, he was your friend for life. If he was your colleague, you knew you had someone in your corner who would fight for you, stand up for you, and call you out when you needed it. That's rare these days. That was Scotty.

He showed up. In the hard days, the late nights, the moments that mattered — he was there. No fanfare, no keeping score. Just fierce, stubborn, unequivocal loyalty.

The world feels quieter without him, smaller somehow. But his imprint is everywhere — in the countless yarns we'll spin, in the way he taught us to show up for each other, and importantly, in the standard he set for what it means to be a mate.

We will miss him deeply. We were lucky to have him.

Rest easy, mate.

We at Blue HOPE thank you for the laughter, the lessons and the unwavering friendship.

VALE (former QPS Detective) Scott Nicholson.
