Nundah Private Hospital

Nundah Private Hospital iMH will open its third mental health hospital in Brisbane in late 2024.

Opening in October 2024, the new 58 bed hospital in Brisbane follows the successful openings of Deakin Private Hospital in Canberra and Hirondelle Private Hospital in Sydney. Situated in Nundah, the Queensland hospital will adopt iMH's innovative integrated mental health model, offering in-hospital care alongside expanded support services in home and community settings.

YOU TRAIN YOUR BODY. TRAIN YOUR MIND TOO.

Performance isn’t just physical.

The pressure to perform.
The fear of failure.
Injury and recovery.
Selection and competition.
Confidence. Motivation.
Burnout.
The transition when sport changes - or suddenly stops.

These can have a powerful impact on an athlete’s mental health and, ultimately, their performance.

Sports Psychiatry recognises that the mind and body don’t compete separately - they perform together.

Dr Fiona Fairbrother provides specialist psychiatric care for athletes and people involved in sport, helping them navigate mental health challenges while keeping their performance, identity and goals at the centre of care.

Whether you're competing at an elite level, pursuing your sporting goals, or simply finding that the mental side of sport has become harder to manage, you don't have to struggle through it alone.

💙 Your mental health is part of your performance.

Speak with your GP or treating health professional about whether a referral to Dr Fiona Fairbrother for Sports Psychiatry may be right for you.

YOU’RE NOT IMAGINING IT. 💙

Perimenopause can bring changes that affect far more than your menstrual cycle.

* Sleep suddenly becomes difficult.
* Your mood feels different.
* Anxiety creeps in.
* Your energy disappears.
* Brain fog makes everyday things harder.
* Your body feels unfamiliar.
* And sometimes, you simply don’t feel like yourself anymore.

You don’t have to just put it down to getting older or “push through.”

Dr Zorica Jokovic provides specialist women’s health care, with a particular focus on supporting women through perimenopause, menopause and the mental health changes that can accompany hormonal transition.

Her approach recognises that women’s mental health and hormonal health are often closely connected, and that every woman’s experience is different.

If you’ve noticed changes in your mood, sleep, anxiety, energy or sense of self - it’s worth talking about.

You deserve to feel like you again.

Speak with your GP or treating doctor about whether a referral to Dr Zorica Jokovic may be right for you.

Still struggling with depression despite treatment? You’re not failing - it may be time to look at what’s next. 💙

Sometimes depression doesn’t improve as expected, even with treatment.

If you’ve tried antidepressants or other treatments and are still experiencing persistent low mood, loss of interest, exhaustion, hopelessness or difficulty functioning, it may be worth talking with your doctor about whether your depression could be treatment resistant.

Recognising this earlier can help open the door to a more tailored treatment plan and specialist support.

If you’re still struggling, don’t give up. There may be other options to explore.

When the nest is empty… what comes next? 💜

The kids have grown up. The house is quieter. Your role has changed. And suddenly, you’re left wondering… “What now?”

Empty nesting and other life transitions can bring a mix of emotions - freedom, loss, uncertainty, excitement and sometimes a sense of feeling a little stuck.

At Nundah Private Hospital, our Young at Heart Day Program is designed specifically for people aged 50+ who are navigating change and looking to reconnect with themselves, their purpose and what comes next.

* Explore life transitions
* Connect with others who understand
* Build confidence and resilience
* Rediscover interests, identity and purpose
* Develop practical strategies for this next chapter

Because 50+ isn’t the beginning of slowing down - it can be the beginning of something new.

Your next chapter deserves to be more than an empty nest. It can be a life full of possibility. Our next intake is just around the corner for our Young @ Heart Program and we would love to work with you!
