Those tiny feet are doing much more than just looking cute 👣👶
In the early months, your baby’s feet are full of important sensory information that helps their nervous system learn about movement and body position.
In this activity, I use the Hokey Pokey to make it fun while providing different types of sensory input to the feet through age-appropriate reflexes and touch.
This gives babies opportunities to:
👣 experience different sensations through their feet
🧠 build body awareness
⚖️ develop the foundations for balance and movement
🎵 enjoy playful interaction with their parent
The singing isn’t just for fun—it slows everything down, making it easier for babies to notice what they’re feeling and giving parents an easy routine they can repeat at home.
As always, keep it playful, go at your baby’s pace, and stop if they’re no longer enjoying it. 💛
