Perimenopause & Menopause are normal stages of life. Perimenopause & Menopause are not disease states, and are a normal life transition that should not be feared.
Once in menopause, a woman is in menopause for life. Menopause is not just a phase of symptoms that comes and goes and then it is over. Far from it.
The problem with these stages of life is that many women are confused about what these stages of life hold for them, many have also been told lots of misinformation, and some are still holding on to outdated myths about hormone replacement therapy.
While Perimenopause & Penopause are normal stages of life that should not be feared, we do need to be fully aware of serious health conditions that will present themselves, if a woman does not replace crucial hormones and nutrients her body will become deficient in.
Osteoporosis, atrophic vaginitis, urogynaecological conditions, cardiovascular disease, dementia, and certain cancers are just to name a few things that can, and do happen in these stages of life.
Many of these disease states do not even present with symptoms until the disease has fully progressed, and certain cancers can develop with very minimal symptoms at all.
The sad fact is that many women wait to long to do something about preventing these serious disease states, and once some have formed & progressed, it could actually be too late. This is why I said that "If you wait, it could be too late".
This is why early intervention and prevention measures should be looked at during perimenopause, or even earlier.
This is also why it is important to see a qualified women's health expert early on, and not try and manage these stages of life yourself, and be careful where you are getting your information from too.
