The beauty of Masunaga lies in how it leaves a distinct imprint on archetypal frames. Classic shapes are preserved, then elevated through discreet ornamentation that never interferes with the silhouette, but adds depth and texture to the finish.

In doing so, they express the quality, character and restraint of Japanese craft like few other makers.

Since 1905.

Mike wears the 'Triumph' aviator by Cutler and Gross.

"We’ve just received another limited-edition piece from the Cutler and Gross x The Great Frog collaboration. Limited to just 350 pieces worldwide, the new Triumph Aviator is crafted from pure Japanese titanium and sterling silver, finished with intricate baroque-style engraving."

"It has a beautifully oversized silhouette, which you know I love, but my favourite detail is the cabochon-cut black onyx set into each temple. A little rock ’n’ roll, a little refinement, and very rare. Oh, and Billy Idol wears it. 🤘🏻"

We can’t recall another film in which so many members of the cast wore such memorable frames.

Roger Moore’s James Bond wore two undisputed icons: the aviators seen on the Siberian slopes, and the polarising tortoiseshell frames that allowed him to see through tinted glass. Christopher Walken as the megalomaniacal Max Zorin, appeared in a particularly sharp pair of lightly tinted aviators, while Grace Jones’ May Day made a pair of super small round tortoiseshell frames unforgettable, worn with an equally formidable black pinstripe suit.

Introducing the ‘Hockney’ from our in-house brand, MAKRAS.

Designed in Germany by Mike and the team, MAKRAS exists to do what no other brand on our shelves quite can — frames that are quirky, expressive and playful, but executed with absolute seriousness.

The Hockney takes its name from David Hockney — the late great British artist whose unmistakable world of saturated colour, California light and sharp observation was matched by an equally distinctive taste in eyewear.

Bold in proportion and full of character, the frame captures something of Hockney himself: intelligent, irreverent and entirely individual.

Available in-store in a range of striking acetates, the Hockney can also be made entirely to order — your choice of acetate, colourway and fit. A bespoke creation, built around you.

Exclusive to us, for you.

In their 'Boards' collection, Brazilian brand Lapima reinterprets the design language of surf and skateboards through luxury eyewear.

Creative director Gustavo Assis, a surfer since the late 1980s, draws on his lifelong fascination with boards as objects shaped for speed, flow and self-expression. “Boards is an ode to design — to form, function and beauty. It brings together creative elements that are part of my personal history and that I have long wanted to translate into the LAPIMA universe,” says Assis.
