Prenatal Yoga Course with Kaitlyn 🥑

Pregnancy brings so much change. Your body is doing incredible things, your mind might be full of questions, and there’s a lot to think about as you prepare to meet your baby.

Our five-week Prenatal Yoga Course is a chance to slow down, tune in and make a little space for yourself in the middle of it all.

Through gentle, pregnancy-informed movement, breathing practices, relaxation and time to connect with your growing baby, Kaitlyn will guide you through practices that can support you as your body changes and you prepare for birth.

You’ll have space to move in ways that feel good, explore breath and relaxation techniques, and learn to listen to your body without feeling like you need to push, perform or keep up. There’s also something lovely about sharing the experience with others who are navigating this same season of life.

Whether you’re new to yoga or have an established practice, you’re welcome here.

Everything is offered with options and care, so you can meet yourself where you are, week by week.

Five Saturday mornings to move, breathe, connect and feel supported through pregnancy.

What does it mean to have a strong core?

Or perhaps more importantly, what does it mean to feel supported from within?

Our core isn’t just the muscles we can see or the ones we can consciously contract. There are layers upon layers of support within the body, working quietly beneath the surface.

Join Matt for his newest workshop, “Building a Strong and Balanced Core”, to explore those layers and begin to understand how they work together: with the breath, the spine, the pelvis and the rest of the body.

Because strength isn’t always about doing more. And this isn’t about getting ripped, building bigger muscles or chasing a stronger-looking body.

It’s an invitation to look a little deeper. To understand what’s already there, learn to access it, and create enough awareness and stability that the body doesn’t have to work harder than it needs to.

Support rather than force.
Stability without rigidity.
Strength that serves you, rather than something you have to perform.

It’s the kind of work that might not look particularly dramatic from the outside, but can make a meaningful difference to how you feel, move and live in your body every day.

And perhaps that’s the kind of strength worth cultivating: deep, steady and sustainable… On and off your mat.

What if you gave yourself 90 minutes to move slowly, breathe deeply and bring your attention back to yourself?

The Chakra Reset offers a gentle exploration of the body’s subtle energy through a series of traditional focus points, inviting you to notice different qualities of experience as you move between the base of the body to the crown.

Grounding. Creativity. Vitality. Connection. Expression. Awareness.

Through long-held Yin postures, breathwork, meditation and sound, you’ll spend time tuning into these different areas of the body and the qualities they can represent, creating space for reflection, awareness and a deeper sense of connection with yourself.

Rather than something to diagnose, fix or force into balance, this is an invitation to get curious about your own experience. Where do you feel grounded? Where do you feel open and energised? Where might you be holding tension, emotion or simply the busyness of everyday life?

As the practice unfolds, the body softens, the breath becomes quieter and your attention gradually turns inward. Tibetan singing bowls weave through the practice, adding sound and resonance to the experience.

You don’t need to know anything about chakras to join us. Just come as you are, with an open mind and a little space in your evening.

✨ The Chakra Reset with Mandy

A slow, nourishing journey through Yin, breathwork, meditation and sound, exploring the body’s subtle energy and the different qualities of experience held within our practice.

October feels like a turning point.

The year is gathering speed, the days are getting longer, and suddenly Christmas decorations are appearing in the shops while I’m still wondering where September went. 😅

Perhaps it’s the season, perhaps it’s Libra energy, perhaps it my algorithm, but I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we move through the world, and what we put into it.

Yoga gives us some beautiful reminders here. Ahimsa asks us to practise kindness and non-harming. Satya asks us to speak truthfully, and sometimes, to speak up. And brahmacharya asks us to consider how we use our energy, power and influence. Are we using what we have with integrity and care? Are we contributing something good, or simply taking what we can?

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the big things happening in the world, particularly when they feel completely beyond our control.

But yoga keeps bringing us back to what is within our reach.

The way we speak to the person in front of us.
The space we make and hold for someone else.
The courage to say something when it matters.
The choice to be kind when we could easily be otherwise.
The energy we bring into our homes, our friendships, our workplaces and our communities.

Small? Perhaps. But small things ripple.

So this week, perhaps ask yourself:

✨ Where can I choose kindness?
✨ Where might I need to speak up?
✨ What is the most meaningful use of my energy?

You don’t have to change the whole world to make a difference in it. Start where you are. 🌿

I used to think that practicing yoga meant fitting a certain mould. Hot lemon water, zero vices, bare nails, total zen 24/7.
Turns out, the practice doesn’t ask you to be anyone other than you!

You can hold a steady practice and book in for a manicure.
You can party all weekend and yin it out on Monday.
You can meditate at sunrise and stay up late for trashy TV.
You can chant om and belt out 90s hip hop in the car.
You can use natural deodorant and love a bit of shellac.

Yoga isn’t about shrinking yourself into a box. It’s about coming home to the whole, gloriously contradictory you. 🤍

What’s the contradiction that’s had you thinking you’re “not a real yogi”? Tell me below 👇

One of the funny things about owning a yoga studio is becoming completely convinced that the way you do things is just ‘how things are done’.

Students are welcomed as they are.
Teachers offer choices instead of directives.
No one is pressured to do something they don’t want to do.
You can opt out. You can rest. You can change your mind.
Your body, practice and boundaries belong to you.

We don’t make a huge song and dance about it. It’s just Stretch.

Until we step outside our bubble and realise, actually, it isn’t necessarily how things are done! Out of everything I’ve had to learn, this has been one of the biggest surprises.

I knew we had something special here, but I didn’t realise quite how intentional it was. Or how much care goes into protecting it!

A yoga studio is more than the classes on the timetable. It’s the culture created in the room. It’s the way a teacher speaks to a student. How a new person is welcomed. How someone is allowed to say no. The things we choose to encourage, and the things we don’t.

At Stretch, we want to create a space where there is possibility without expectation.Where you can explore without being pushed. Where teaching is inclusive, accessible and considered, with attention to consent, language and boundaries. Where “come as you are” isn’t just a nice tagline.

And underneath it all are the things yoga has been offering us for thousands of years: the yamas and niyamas. Not rules to perform, but principles to keep returning to. The ongoing practice of how we relate to ourselves, to one another and to the world around us.

This doesn’t mean we get everything right. But we care enough to keep asking:
Does how we teach reflect what we say we value?
Does this feel safe?
Does this leave room for choice?
Does it respect the person in front of us?
Does this create more space, rather than less?

Ultimately, the purpose of Stretch isn’t to create better ‘yogis’. It’s to create a space where people can arrive exactly as they are, practise without having to prove, and leave with a little more connection to themselves.

That little bubble we’ve created here? Turns out it’s pretty precious. And

Okay, but how do we actually do gratitude?

Because being told to “practise gratitude” sounds lovely and all.

And sure, I can spend five minutes thinking about all the things I’m grateful for...

My family.
My health.
My amazing team.
My home.
My little toe…

But then life happens.

The email comes in.
The toddler melts down.
Someone cuts you off in traffic.
The to-do list grows another 8 dot points.

And suddenly you’ve forgotten all about your gratitude practice. Then you remember it three days later and feel vaguely guilty for taking everything you have for granted.

And honestly? Is that really the point?

This is where the yogic principle of Santosha gets interesting.

Often translated as contentment, Santosha isn’t about pretending everything is wonderful or forcing yourself to be grateful when you’re actually having a terrible day.

It’s not “look on the bright side.” It’s an invitation to notice what is already here.

To practise shifting our attention away from the endless pull towards more, better, next — and towards an awareness of enough.

Not as a one-off gratitude exercise. But as a way of relating to our lives.

In Paul’s upcoming Gratitude & Santosha: The Discipline of Enoughness workshop, you’ll explore the science of gratitude alongside this ancient yogic teaching, then bring it into the body through slow yoga, reflection and a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra.

The aim isn’t to give you another thing to remember to do. It’s to explore what happens when enoughness becomes something we can recognise, feel and return to, even when life is imperfect.

And perhaps that’s a much more useful kind of gratitude?

Spring has sprung! 🌱

There’s something about a change of season that makes you want to open the windows, get outside, clear out a cupboard you’ve been ignoring and generally feel like tidying up your life.

I was pondering this yesterday while tending to my very neglected tomatoes after three weeks away.

This is the year, while raising a small human and running a small business, that I decided I was also going to become a successful vegetable grower. The evidence is currently… limited. But they’re still alive, so I’m calling that progress.

It got me thinking about how Spring offers us this lovely little reminder about renewal.

We don’t have to reinvent ourselves every time the season changes. Sometimes it’s simply about noticing what’s already beginning to stir, tending to it, trimming something here and there, and making a little more room for things to grow.

Tomatoes aside, perhaps we could offer ourselves the same gentle attention.

And after the wonderful effort you all put into Winter Warriors, we hope you’re carrying a little of that reconnection with you into Spring.

Whether you made it to 3, 11, 16 classes or somewhere in between, it wasn’t really about the number. It was about making the choice to show up. To carve out a little space. To come back to your mat, and to yourself.

So, as the days get longer and Spring starts to properly unfold, here are a few ways to keep tending to yourself at Stretch:

You don’t have to earn rest

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to treat rest as a reward.

Once the work is finished.
Once the house is tidy.
Once the emails are answered.
Once everyone else is taken care of.
*Then* we can stop.

But the list is rarely finished.

Yoga offers us another possibility.

That rest isn’t something we have to deserve. It’s not laziness, indulgence or something reserved for when we’ve finally done enough.

Rest is part of being human.

And sometimes the most nourishing thing we can do isn’t push a little harder, but pause long enough to remember that we are already worthy of care, without having achieved a single thing.

Maybe something to sit with next time you’re fidgety in Savasana: “What is my relationship to rest?”

Do you only allow it once you’ve earned it? Or can you let it simply be part of being human?
