💙 Podiatry Week | Why Aran loves being a podiatrist 👣

For Aran, podiatry is about so much more than feet. It’s about people.

He loves getting to know his patients, building genuine relationships and making sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for.

One of the best parts of the job is helping people feel and move better, whether that’s getting back to sport, walking more comfortably or feeling more confident in their own skin.

🦶 Happy Podiatry Week! 💙

We’re proud to be podiatrists, and we’re so much more than just feet!

At Move, we help people with all sorts of foot and lower limb concerns, and the impact can go well beyond simply relieving pain.

- Improving mobility and helping people stay active
- Supporting a return to sport and the activities they love
- Managing foot and lower limb pain
- Helping people feel more confident through treatments for concerns like fungal toenails

Every patient is different, and we love being part of the journey towards helping people move more comfortably, confidently and freely.

We had Tristan from Mizuno pop into Move today to give us an update on all things footwear 👟

It was great to have a look at some of the latest shoes and chat through what’s new across different sports — from football and tennis to netball, running and pickleball.

We love these opportunities to keep our footwear knowledge up to date, so we can continue to give our patients the best advice when it comes to choosing the right shoe for their feet and their sport.

Thanks for coming in, Tristan! 👌

Shin pain is common in runners — but why does it happen?

Shin pain is often an overuse or loading issue. When running load increases too quickly, the bones and surrounding tissues don’t always have enough time to adapt.

The result? Pain and irritation along the shin — often referred to as shin splints (MTSS).

📈 Increasing your running too quickly
👟 Changing shoes or surfaces
🏃‍♂️ A sudden increase in hills, speed or distance
🦴 Not allowing enough recovery between runs

The key is managing your load and giving your body time to adapt.

If shin pain is affecting your running, don’t just push through it — getting it assessed early can help you keep moving. 💙

Menopause can affect your feet too!

Changes in oestrogen during menopause can affect muscles, tendons and other soft tissues, which may contribute to increased pain and sensitivity.

This can sometimes show up as heel pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles pain or other tendon problems.

If you’ve noticed new or persistent foot pain during menopause, you’re not imagining it — and you don’t have to put up with it. 💗

There are ways we can help you manage the pain, build strength and keep you moving.
