So often we are asked by patients if they will bruise? Our answer – probably!

As you can see there are hundreds of blood vessels supplying the face and many more tiny ones. A needle entering the face has a high chance of hitting one of these vessels. With anti-wrinkle injections, you are less likely to bruise whereas with dermal filler you are more than likely to bruise especially around the mouth and eyes.

Expect bruising… always plan to get treatment at least a week to 2 weeks before events in the case you do bruise… and if you don’t, take it as a win!

After injections using ice or herbal supplements like Arnica can also help reduce bruising
