Another conference in the books, and what a great conference it was!

Spent Friday and Saturday down at Ikon park, home of the blues, at the Australian Podiatry Association musculoskeletal conference, learning everything from running management, exercise and rehabilitation, heel pain, midfoot OA, footwear and more!

Blake | Online Running Injury Consults | Newcastle also gave me a water bottle which was better then winning cash or shoes…

As I posted on my story, spent last night down in Melbourne at Bared Footwear learning about ankle injuries in netball, prevention and management strategies, as well as podiatry’s contribution and input into tennis athlete management.

Another fantastic Sports + Exercise Podiatry Australasia event in the books!

Great day at the The Lower Limb Conference on Saturday!

Learning all things from growth related injuries in young athletes, foot and ankle recovery, offloading therapy, injury rehab (such as syndesmosis and lisfranc injuries) and managing athletes.

Shout out to Josh Butcher (Josh Butcher Physio/Pod ) for smashing his first presentation 💪

It’s a basic addition, but I finally have a treadmill at the clinic! No more 5m walks/runs down a hallway! Now we’ll be able to assess walking and running injuries/technique more thoroughly!

For any podiatrists/running enthusiasts watching, I did strain/tear my hamstring on the weekend, so this hurt to jog and do not judge my form 😂

Despite using my own running image in the photo, I am a terrible runner. So whilst I think I know something about running being a podiatrist, at minimum you can listen to the results from experts 🫡 So give this program a try!

🎉 Big news at Mount Piper Podiatry!!! 🎉

I finally have a receptionist! The 1 person show now becomes 2, with Carolyn (or I’ll call her Mum), starting as my receptionist!

Today was her first day and she did a great job learning the ropes. Exciting times ahead, and Mum should settle in nicely as a warm face up front 😄

I’ve posted this on my story, but this is the beginning of big things here! First of many bits of equipment to come over the next few weeks, including more testing and rehab equipment. Super excited to see what this space becomes!

Two great days learning anything and everything about orthotics!

I spent two days up in Newcastle learning all the ins and outs about orthotics. No, not “how can I sell more orthotics”, instead it was when orthotics should be used, when they shouldn’t be used, how to adjust orthotics, different padding styles, the works!

Once again met a lot of great people and learnt so much, thank you Justin & Blake for the amazing course!

Another conference in the books! Spent the last 5 days in Noosa listening to amazing speakers in the world of sports podiatry!

Lectures on gait retaining, bone stress injuries, shin pain and ankle sprains, which were all followed up by amazing workshops about the prior topics, meant that there was a great amount of knowledge and learning passed on over the conference.

Also couldn’t complain with 5 days of beautiful weather ☀️ always one of the best conferences on the calendar, I’m excited for the next one to come!
