Maari Ma is led and governed by an all Aboriginal Board of Directors, democratically elected to represent 7 communities in our region: Broken Hill, Ivanhoe, Balranald, Menindee, Wilcannia, Wentworth Shires and Tibooburra from the unincorporated area. The board is deeply committed to providing a holistic approach to Aboriginal health that includes physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural and enviro

nmental dimensions. We deliver services to the whole community both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal, and work closely with mainstream agencies to provide access to a broad range of services. Since our incorporation Maari Ma has built strong local strategic partnerships with the Far West Local Health District, Sydney University Department of Rural Health and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Maari Ma also strives to build partnerships with our communities as their participation in the planning and implementation of health programs is essential not only to quality health care but also to the integration of public health programs in our communities.

Get ready to put the girls first: its Womens Health Week tomorrow! 🎉This year's theme, 'Do it anyway', is about encouraging your sister, mother, auntie to take small, meaningful steps towards their health and wellbeing, whatever that looks like for them. Let’s celebrate the strength and diversity of each other and women generally and make health and wellbeing a priority – for ourselves, our families, and our communities. 🚺

Today is World Sexual Health Day and next week is Sexual Health Week. If you have an appointment at Maari Ma's clinic, or you are walking past, pop in and grab a bag of goodies and info - just ask Bek at reception for one. It is not shame to be sexually active and want to stay safe so nurse Bek has pulled together plenty of info to answer all your questions....but if you've got more, ask to speak to Bek.
