Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services are not just improving health outcomes – they are helping drive the Kimberley economy.

At the recent Kimberley Economic Forum, KAMS and Kimberley Renal Services (KRS) CEO Vicki O'Donnell shared how the community-controlled sector is creating jobs, supporting local businesses, growing the regional workforce, delivering nationally recognised research, and investing back into the communities they serve.

Together, KAMS, KRS and our eight Member Services are:

β€’ Employing hundreds of people across the Kimberley.
β€’ Reinvesting millions of dollars into local communities, businesses and infrastructure.
β€’ Creating pathways for Aboriginal employment, leadership and workforce development.
β€’ Delivering innovative research that is influencing health care nationally.
β€’ Reinvesting every dollar back into services, infrastructure and community benefit.

Strong Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services do more than improve health outcomes. They strengthen local economies, create opportunity and help build a resilient and prosperous future for the Kimberley.

Thank you to the Derby Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to be part of this important conversation, and to everyone working together to shape the future of our region.

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Our KAMS Graduates! πŸŽ‰

A huge congratulations to Pepita Hunter and Michael McKenzie, who have successfully completed the Building the First Nations VET Workforce Program and graduated with their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

The graduation ceremony was held in Brisbane on Wednesday, 28 July, recognising graduates from across Australia who have completed this important program.

Led by NACCHO, delivered by MRWED Training and Assessment, and supported by Aboriginal Community Controlled Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), the program equips participants from health, early childhood, aged care, disability, community services and other sectors to return to their organisations as qualified trainers and assessors, strengthening the First Nations workforce.

The graduation ceremony was attended by The Hon. Andrew Giles MP and Donella Mills, celebrating the achievements of this outstanding cohort.

Congratulations Pepita and Michael on this fantastic milestone. Your dedication to building knowledge, skills and capacity within our communities will have a lasting impact. πŸ‘πŸ’™
