For years, it was described as if it began and ended with "cysts on the ovaries."
The new name, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, finally reflects what many living with it already knew: a complex hormonal and metabolic condition, not a single, simple issue.
For a lot of people, that recognition brings relief. For others, it can also bring grief, for the years spent confused, dismissed, or made to feel like the problem was them.
Both can be true at once.

Bullying doesn't always stay in childhood.

For many people, the impact lingers: difficulty trusting others, a heightened alertness in social situations, or an inner critic that echoes something once said to them long ago.

This year's Bullying No Way theme, Small Acts Big Impact, is a reminder that care doesn't need to be grand to matter.

Most of us learn about our 5 senses in primary school. Fewer people learn about the 3 internal systems.

One internal system is called Interoception.

Interoception refers to our awareness of our internal bodies and emotional states.
This includes hunger, thirst, pain, energy as well as fear, happiness, anger.
Studies have found that neurodivergent individuals may have some challenges with interoceptive awareness.

Adolescence asks a lot of a nervous system that is still developing.
Identity, friendships, growing independence, all while the brain is still learning to regulate big emotions. It's not something to just "get through."
It deserves patience, not pressure, from the adults around them and from themselves. Happy International Youth day!

Today is the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respect to Elders past and present.
Culturally safe care matters to us, and we are committed to ensuring that people of all cultures feel actively safe, recognised and valued in our care.

Have you ever wondered why dating apps can leave you feeling more depleted than connected?
It is important to remember that they are designed to keep us engaged: a new match, a refreshed feed, a small dopamine hit.
It's the same reward loop that keeps us checking any app, and it isn't built with our wellbeing in mind.
When a conversation goes quiet, that same loop can leave the drop off feeling like a personal rejection. Be mindful that it is not a personal failing but just how the platform is built.

We are more connected than ever, and many of us have never felt more alone.
This Loneliness Awareness Week, we are sitting with that paradox. Digital connection can be real, but it isn't always enough.
Attachment research reminds us that connection is something we are wired for, not a luxury we have outgrown.
Connection doesn't happen by accident. It grows in the spaces we make room for.
