Sometimes the school term moves so fast that concerns keep getting pushed aside.

"We'll see how next term goes."
"They might grow out of it."
"They're coping enough for now."

This isn’t random.

It’s what happens when the demands change across environments.
Some children use everything they’ve got to get through the school day—�following language, keeping up, managing social expectations—�and there’s nothing left when they get home.
Others feel steady and supported at home,�but school increases the load—�more noise, more language, more pressure.

This is where support matters.�Helping kids manage the load, not just survive it.

Social-emotional support isn’t owned by one profession.

At Gameplan, our Speech Pathologists work across:

We often get asked to review school support plans.
At first glance, this looks supportive... right?

But look a little closer 👀
• “The school will determine…”
• “Any provisions not utilised will be removed”
• "...not guaranteed..."

These small phrases tell you a lot about how support is being understood.
Because under the Disability Standards for Education, adjustments are not:
— decided at discretion
— dependent on frequency of use
— offered conditionally
They are based on functional need and are provided to ensure equitable access

Access isn’t conditional.
