A bit of a proud moment. πŸ’™

After plenty of hard work (and more than a few challenges along the way), seeing our signage finally up feels pretty special.

When I started Passion for Empowerment, I never imagined where this journey would lead. It's grown because of an incredible team, the people who trust us to support them, and a shared belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood and empowered.

Some days I still have to stop and remind myself that this is real.

Here's to the next chapter. 🀎

Bittersweet goodbyes today as we farewelled Shannon on her last day with the team. πŸ’™

While we're sad to see her go, we're so excited for this new chapter as she heads to Gladstone. Thank you, Shannon, for everything you've brought to our team, our participants and the genuine care you've shown every step of the way. You've made a real difference, and you'll be greatly missed.

Wishing you every success, happiness, and adventure in this next season. Gladstone is lucky to have you! πŸ’βœ¨

Last week I went along to the Upbeat Art home concert and listened to the group sing Dreams by The Cranberries.

I've heard that song hundreds of times, but today I heard it differently. I was quietly singing along in my head and had goosebumps watching everyone perform.

Up Beat Arts meets every Wednesday at 10am at the CWA Hall on Quay Street, followed by a community lunch. A few members told me it's the highlight of their week. For some, it's given them routine, purpose and a place where they feel like they belong.

And the best part? You don't have to be a good singer. You just have to show up.

It was a really lovely reminder that community, music and feeling connected can make such a difference.

NDIS pricing updates for 2026–27 are out, along with plan indexing changes that will affect how funding is structured across the scheme.

Reminder: plan indexing means your plan funding may be adjusted when prices change.
It doesn’t change your supports or goals β€” but it can change how long your funding lasts if prices have gone up or down.

There’s a bit to sit with here. Price freezes are tough, especially when costs in the real world keep moving. The upside is some areas have increased β€” including certain therapies, support work, and PRC β€” which helps balance things out a little.

The biggest shift this round looks like respite, and that may take some time for people to adjust to in practice.

If you’re unsure how any of this applies to you or your plan, ask questions. It’s okay to get clarity on how it actually works β€” especially when the details matter this much.

Step outside.

Feel the sun on your face.

Take a deep breath.

Move your body, even if it's only for five minutes.

Not because nature is a cure or exercise fixes everything.

But because they can gently interrupt the cycle. They remind us there's a world beyond our thoughts, that our bodies deserve care, and that healing doesn't always begin with a breakthrough. Sometimes it begins with one small step.

To anyone carrying a heavy mind today: you don't have to do it all. Just start where you are.

The sunshine will still be there tomorrow.

The fresh air will still be there tomorrow.

And so will the opportunity to try again.

Our reminder to this community: bad days don't last forever. Emotions rise and fall. Be kind to yourself while you ride the wave.

Pasta doesn't solve burnout.

Cooking doesn't cure depression.

But when parts of you want to withdraw, making something is a quiet declaration that you're still participating in your life.

Creating instead of disappearing into the noise in your head.

Today it was pasta.

Tomorrow it might be a conversation, a walk, a workout, or simply getting out of bed.

A reminder to our community that emotions are temporary visitors. The lows pass. The hard days soften.

Keep making things.

Keep participating in your life.

This feeling won't last forever.

A big milestone for our team 🌱

This past week we officially moved to our new commercial office space.

What started as a vision to create support services grounded in understanding, advocacy, and lived experience has continued to grow into something bigger than I imagined.

This new space gives us room to better support our participants, families, and team β€” with dedicated meeting spaces, improved accessibility, and a place to continue building meaningful connections.

As part of this growth, we’ve also welcomed new team members and expanded our roles to include:
✨ Compliance and Intake Officer
✨ Finance Officer
✨ New Support Coordinators & Recovery Coaches

These changes strengthen what happens behind the scenes, allowing us to keep delivering quality support while growing sustainably.

To everyone who has trusted us, referred to us, worked alongside us, or cheered us on β€” thank you. We’re proud of what is being built here and excited for what comes next.

Here's a happy snap from moving day!
