Life gets busy.

Between supports, appointments, paperwork, work, family and everything else happening behind the scenes… it can be easy to forget to slow down.

Then our beautiful region gives us little reminders like this.

Some wins don’t happen overnight ❤️

Sometimes support looks like a big milestone.

Sometimes it looks like showing up consistently, week after week, building trust, having conversations, sharing interests, and creating a space where someone feels safe enough to try something new.

A community outing might look simple from the outside.

But sometimes behind that moment are months, or even years, of patience, encouragement, reassurance and confidence building.

Because support isn’t about pushing someone before they are ready.

It’s about walking beside them until they decide they are.

At Coast to Coast Lifestyle Support, we believe every person moves at their own pace.

And every step forward deserves celebrating.

Because support should not be generic ❤️

Meet one of the more unusual members of the Coast to Coast family. 🦎

No, she doesn't answer emails.

No, she doesn't complete paperwork.

And no, she isn't particularly helpful during staff meetings.

But she does remind us to slow down occasionally and enjoy the little things.

Running a small business can be busy, chaotic and occasionally overwhelming.

Sometimes it's important to stop and appreciate the things that make you smile.

We just found an exceptionally small banana and felt it deserved recognition. 🍌

One of our participants collects these.

I build them.

It's become a bit of a tradition.

He gets excited about adding another character to the collection, and I get to enjoy building something with approximately 7,000 tiny pieces and instructions written by someone who clearly enjoys a challenge. 😅

One of the best parts of support work is discovering the interests that matter to people and finding ways to be part of those moments.

Sometimes support looks like appointments.

Sometimes it looks like community access.

And sometimes it looks like spending an evening building robots.

Support should not be generic.

Support should not be generic.

Every person has different goals.
Different strengths.
Different challenges.
Different interests.

So why should support look the same for everyone?

At Coast to Coast Lifestyle Support, we believe meaningful support starts with getting to know the individual, not just the plan.

Because real support isn't about fitting people into a service.

It's about building supports around people.

It's a simple idea.

But it's one of the values that guides everything we do.

WORKPLACE SAFETY NOTICE 🐱

It has come to our attention that all equipment inspections must now be approved by one of our participant's furry supervisors.

Qualifications:
✔️ Expert climber
✔️ Specialist in unexpected appearances
✔️ Professional observer of human activity
✔️ Zero understanding of workplace boundaries
✔️ Demands regular snack breaks and pats

Thankfully, Coast to Coast Lifestyle Support believes support should never be generic… and apparently neither should workplace inspections. 😅

Building Coast to Coast Lifestyle Support has been equal parts rewarding, exhausting, exciting, chaotic, meaningful… and occasionally fuelled entirely by caffeine ☕😂

But one thing we’ve learned very quickly is this:

It all matters more than you probably realise.

The older we get, the more we realise…
Good support isn’t always found in the big moments.

Sometimes it’s:

✅️ Being understood without needing to explain yourself.
✅️ Feeling safe with the people around you.
✅️ Having someone genuinely listen.
✅️ Laughing during an ordinary day.
✅️ Knowing someone will show up consistently.

The little things matter more than people think.

Outside of support work, compliance, admin, and the organised chaos of running a small business…

Creativity has always been my reset 🎨✨
Painting, crafting, sculpting; anything that lets me slow down, switch off, and create something with my hands.

Most of my projects start with a simple idea, and somehow ends with paint everywhere and three unfinished creations nearby 😂

But honestly?

Creativity teaches patience, problem-solving, adaptability, and seeing things differently.

Funnily enough, those same skills find their way into how I support people and run Coast to Coast Lifestyle Support every day.

These little mushrooms were one of my recent creative moments 🍄
