'Fragrance' on a skincare label is a single word that can legally cover dozens of undisclosed chemical compounds.

It's one of the most commonly listed ingredients in mainstream skincare products. Brands are not required to disclose what's actually inside it because fragrance formulas are legally protected as trade secrets.

Some of the compounds used are well-studied. Others are not. The issue isn't always what's in there — it's that you have no way to find out.

We don't use added fragrance in any of our products. The only scented option in our range is the Frankincense Infused line, where frankincense resin is listed by name as the ingredient.

If you're putting something on your skin every day, you should be able to read what it is.

Created by our Design Team member Sam Laing, this beautiful candle and keepsake box uses elements from our Garden Chronicles collection to create a thoughtful, handmade gift. By using rub-ons, you can achieve a beautifully detailed look without needing any painting skills at all!

Sam has also combined the project with another favourite technique - gelli printing - to create the soft, layered background on the keepsake box. The result is a project that's creative, personal, and surprisingly easy to recreate.
