We have an amazing opportunity for someone in Chapel Hill. We have a vacancy in a specialist disability accommodation house in the heart of Chapel Hill. This is a purpose built house for people with significant disability that allows them to live an awesome life by removing the normal barriers housing can present.

It's a beautiful house built and owned in 2018 by one of the families whose son currently lives there with a friend. Both lads are lates 30's early 40's. They both have significant disability support needs and have a team of dedicated workers from Empowered Futures providing 24/7 active awake supports.

Empowered Futures is a specialist high quality disability provider i sour 13 year of operation. We are intentionally small and niche providing support to 6 NDIS Participants.

Our Supported Independent Living House (SIL) in Chapel Hill is going off grid. In March the owners of our Chapel Hill SIL home (one of our families) will install a 48 KWH Goodwe Battery with full backup/blackout protection and increase the size of their solar generation by adding additional panels.

This is an exciting step on many levels; it moves the house essentially to an off-grid position and it will virtually remove the energy costs for those living in this home.

We have always sort to deliver empowered solutions for the Participants who are part of the Empowered Futures' community. This isn't confined to empowering supports. Which we are absolutely committed to delivering. Ensuring our Participants have an empowered financial model is also a key driver for us.

We do not garnish our Participant's pensions by taking a set percentage of their pension. We work with each individual to develop their own personalised budget ensuring they are able to build savings after their living expenses for life's unexpected curve balls. Allowing them to live a life on the DSP that escapes the poverty trap of a provider garnished pension.

That's why we are so excited to see the increased solar and battery combination being installed. This will further reduce the cost of living for the Participants in this home and increase their personal financial empowerment. Not to mention giving them full blackout protection during storm season.

Perhaps we can help. Empowered Futures is an intentionally small, high-quality, family centered SIL provider supporting families in the Brisbane West to Ipswich corridor. We currently have capacity to add another SIL to our existing SIL homes. We currently support less than 10 Participants with complex supports needs and underlying medical conditions. Our staff are highly trained and passionate about providing 1:1 complex supports. Our founder and CEO Carolyn Swann has walked in your shoes as a parent of a profoundly disabled child. As we launch full steam into the New Year, we wanted to share with everyone that we have vacancies (3). As an intentionally small provider we have always kept our focus on quality over quantity. We currently support 7 Participants. We stay small so that we can continue to offer an intimate, bespoke and individually tailored response to the Participants we have been entrusted to care for. We specialise in Supported Independent Living supports in small family like contexts. Most of our Participants are first time out of the family home. Our small team works closely with each family to design a bespoke solution co-designed in close consultation with you.
