Hi there, I am Shannon and I'm an Emerging Doula living in the Northern Rivers, NSW. I have a huge passion for all things pregnancy, birth and post partum, and supporting Mama's and families through this wild and wonderful time.

The Doula Mama.

Sometimes I can be gone for hours, sometimes it’s days at a time.
While I’m gone I have the most amazing support network that step in a take care of all my things, so I don’t have to worry once about what’s happening at home.

I get to witness the most amazing moments, new babes coming earthside, soul mates becoming parents.

And then I get to come home.
Their little eyes light up and squeeze me so hard.
And always…..

‘Did the mummy have her baby!!! Did you see it? Was it a boy baby or a girl baby?’

They get so excited about what I do, and it makes my heart explode.

And I’m right back where I’m supposed to be, wrapped in my babies arms.

Sometimes doing all the things is everything.

The hip squeezes.
The massage.
The affirmations.
The cheerleader.

And then….

Sometimes doing ‘nothing’ is everything.

Fading into the background.
Silently watching the most incredible intimate moments.
Protecting the energy.
The keeper of the birth space.

Every moment has its place.
And I love every single one 🙌🏻

Final postpartum Doula fairy visit for the year 🧚🧚🧚

Mary Poppins basket (as this mama liked to call it) full of alllll the goodies.
And another beautiful morning with hand delivered coffee, nourishing food, treats, a hot shower in peace for mama, and lots of chats and laughs.

Gosh I LOVE what I do 🤍

Dancing into the end of this year with some prenatal doula dates with the couples I am supporting next year, and then soaking in my babes for some special holiday time.

And then bring on the new year!

Doula mode in full swing 🙌🏻

Today was the most beautiful postpartum visit with a beautiful mama that I supported during the birth of her baby girl on Friday, and it looked like -

- Deep birth debrief.
- Snuggles with babe for me so mama could do a few personal things.
- Some tips for supporting peri healing, and a healing peri soak for mama.
- Load of washing folded and another one put on.
- A warm meal and freshly baked loaf of sourdough dished up for mama for lunch, while we spoke about postpartum so far.

Some of the words this mama used this morning in regards to how she feels about her birth and postpartum were -

- Safe
- Nurtured
- Supported
- Nourished
- Grounded
- Calm

For me as a Doula, how you FEEL during your journey is the most important. Visions can shift and change, but if we honour the way you want to feel, then we are honouring YOU, and offering the most solid foundation for you to follow your instincts and do your thing 🤍

I believe in you, and I’m here for it every step of the way 🫶🏼

Celebrating our beautiful sisters and their babes ✨ nearly 12 months on from the day I stepped into my first Doula day with these ladies, and I never could have imagined the special bond and friendships we would find. Supporting my beautiful sister in her upcoming birth is just an honour beyond words. Cup is overflowing tonight ✨✨

Thank you Amy for hosting us, and all the special little touches you put on. Sharing laughs, tears and food made with love is what it’s all about 🫶🏼
