28/03/2020
Dear valued clients,
It is with deep sadness that we have decided to temporarily close our clinic as of Friday 27/3/2020.
You are no doubt acutely aware of the massive changes that are occurring within our community as a result of the COVID 19 virus. To date, we have been continuing to provide physiotherapy services to our community members, with adherence to the strictest infection control measures that are available to us.
Unfortunately, given the anticipated increase in infection rate, and the recommendations regarding social distancing from the government, we no longer feel certain that we can provide a safe environment for you or our staff. Additionally, some of our clients and staff may be at increased risk, and it is for these reasons that we feel the responsible action to take is to hibernate the practice.
Our intention is to provide a resumption of services as soon as we believe it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, we will be initiating online video consultations (Telehealth) within the next week or so. Whilst there is obviously no capacity here for hands-on techniques, we can conduct interviews and assess relevant movements to diagnose the problem. Following this, we can discuss management options including provision of appropriate exercises, and other strategies to assist your recovery. We will also continue to be able to refer you for investigations or to your medical practitioner if appropriate.
If you do have a problem for which you might normally visit a physio, it is well worth considering an online visit, particularly during these unusual circumstances.
If you’d like more information on these services, please feel free to call our clinic number- which will divert to my mobile phone, and I will email more specific details.
We encourage all our clients to stay safe, adhere to social distancing, wash your hands regularly and importantly stay connected to friends and family (even if it is by phone, facetime or skype) as we need each other more than ever at this difficult time.
Finally, keep moving and try to maintain general fitness – walk, run, practice yoga, meditate or whatever you need to do to keep your mind and body as healthy as possible.
We hope you all stay safe, and we can get through this challenge. Steve will be available by mobile phone or email, so whilst our physical door is temporarily closed, we are still here for our clients!
