On Friday our residents were treated to a special wildlife and reptile encounter from Aussie Wildlife Displays. We had a visit from snakes, crocodiles, birds, wombats and more! The residents had a great time and it was wonderful to have so many varieties of animal to see up close.

A special thank you to the Bunyip Community Market who provided us with a grant which made this opportunity possible.

Our residents recently enjoyed another great visit from the Pat-a-cat service with three sweet kitties who came to spend time with residents and enjoy lots of cuddles.

Our residents had a lovely visit on Friday from Puppets Alive who performed a special show here at Hillview and spent time interacting with residents. It’s always great fun having the puppets come to visit.

Our residents have been enjoying cheering along for Australia in the Commonwealth Games. Thank you to our lifestyle team for supporting residents to dress up and celebrate for Australia! 🇦🇺

We recently had a visit from a real life pony! Our residents enjoyed a special equine therapy visit from Molly the miniature pony who came to Hillview to spend time with residents, receiving lots of love and pats.

Exciting things are happening at Hillview! 🎉

We have officially started receiving our room fit-out deliveries, and we’ve just welcomed the arrival of our new bar fridges, an essential item for every room at our facility.

These will give our residents the ability to keep their own snacks and drinks in their own personal space, helping make their rooms feel even more like home.

We are now at the pointy end of the building works, with the extension almost complete and expected to be finished next month! This is an incredibly exciting milestone, but we need your help now more than ever to reach our $250,000 fundraising goal.

Reaching this goal will allow us to fit out all 16 new rooms with the remaining essential items, create welcoming communal family spaces, and furnish our new larger staff room as we prepare to grow our team and continue providing the best possible support for our residents.

On Friday we hosted Hillview’s first ‘Cuppa with a Councillor’. We were thrilled to have Cr Alanna Pomeroy - Bunyip Ward, Cardinia Shire and her colleague from the positive ageing team at Cardinia Shire Council join us and speak to residents. We thank them for giving up their time to come to Hillview and hope to welcome them back again in the future.

We recently had a visit from the local Bunyip CFA who came to speak with residents about the important work they do in our community. It was a lovely afternoon with plenty of cuppas and chat. They also managed to do some individual room visits which were a big hit with residents! Thank you to the Bunyip CFA team for volunteering their time to come and see our residents here at Hillview.

Last week at Hillview, our residents celebrated NAIDOC week by taking part in a special dot painting activity led by our wonderful staff members, Raquel and Kelly. Their guidance and enthusiasm brought the experience to life, giving residents the opportunity to explore this beautiful art form. The session resulted in many colourful and creative artworks, while also inspiring meaningful conversations and shared stories throughout the activity.
