Pelvic floor preparation should be part of every antenatal education class. 🤍
One thing I hear again and again is that women have been told to “do their pelvic floor exercises”… but no one has actually shown them how to do them correctly.
And honestly, I think that’s a problem.
Understanding your pelvic floor, knowing how to correctly activate AND RELAX IT (so important for birth!!) and learning how it works throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum is such an important part of preparing for birth.
It’s why I make this part of my childbirth education classes, and why I also have a Women’s Health Physiotherapist join us during the program to help couples understand their pelvic floor properly and answer those questions that so often get missed in routine antenatal care.
Because preparing for birth isn’t just about learning about labour and birth — it’s about understanding your body, knowing your options and feeling genuinely prepared for what’s ahead.
If you’re pregnant and would love to learn all of this (and so much more), I’d love to have you join me in my next Childbirth Education Class. 🤍
Come and learn how to feel informed, confident and prepared for your birth and the transition into parenthood.
✨ Bookings are now open for my next class.
