A trigger ball is a simple self-management tool that can help relieve muscle tension, improve movement and make it easier to do your rehab exercises.
Here are a few common areas we might ask you to use it:
👉 Feet – Roll under the arch of your foot to help with tightness or conditions like plantar heel pain.
👉 Glutes – Sit on the ball and gently roll over tight spots. This can be useful if you’re dealing with hip pain, low back pain or stiffness after sitting.
👉 Upper back – Lean against a wall and roll between your shoulder blade and spine to ease tension from desk work or training.
👉 Forearm – Place the ball on forearm muscles, rolling gently to release any tension or tight muscles.
Remember, the exercises we prescribe are based on your assessment, so what works for one person may not be right for another.
If you’re unsure how to use your trigger ball, ask your osteopath, we’re always happy to show you. 💙
