When one hormone shifts, the whole system shifts with it.

Elevated prolactin can suppress ovulation, lower progesterone, and disrupt cycle rhythm.

That can show up as:

• irregular or long cycles
• breast tenderness
• low libido
• fertility challenges

Even “mildly high” changes the hormonal conversation.

And prolactin rarely rises in isolation — stress pathways, thyroid function, and pituitary signalling all matter.

If your cycle feels off but you’ve been told your labs are normal, this is a marker I look at closely.

Hormones never act alone — and neither do I when assessing them.

One of the most common pieces of acne advice is:

“Just fix your skincare.”

But persistent acne is rarely driven by skincare alone.

In clinic I often see deeper contributors such as:

• gut microbiome imbalance
• blood sugar instability
• inflammation
• hormone metabolism changes

This is why many women try multiple skincare products with little improvement.

Understanding the internal drivers can change how acne is approached completely.

Inside my Root Cause Reset Guide, I explain the most common root patterns behind persistent acne.

One of the most frustrating things about acne is when it clears… and then returns again.

Often this happens because the underlying systems driving inflammation haven’t been addressed.

Common contributors include:

• blood sugar instability
• gut microbiome disruption
• impaired hormone clearance
• chronic inflammation

When those systems remain dysregulated, acne can become a recurring pattern rather than a one-time flare.

Inside my Root Cause Reset Guide, I explain the most common internal drivers of persistent acne and how to start identifying them.

Comment TESTING and I’ll send you the guide.

Most acne advice focuses on skincare.

But persistent hormonal acne is rarely just a skin problem.

It usually involves multiple systems interacting at the same time:

• blood sugar regulation
• gut microbiome balance
• inflammation pathways
• hormone metabolism

When these systems become dysregulated, the skin often reflects it through breakouts.

That’s why acne often appears alongside symptoms like:

• PMS
• bloating
• fatigue
• irregular cycles

Inside my Root Cause Reset Guide, I explain the internal patterns I assess first when someone comes to me with persistent acne.

Comment TESTING and I’ll send you the guide.

Most women with persistent acne fall into one of four patterns:

• blood sugar driven
• gut driven
• hormone clearance driven
• nervous system driven

Once you identify your pattern, treatment becomes much clearer.

Comment TESTING and I’ll send you the guide explaining these patterns and how to interpret your own.
