📢 Important Update to Our Text Messages

From 1 July 2026, you will no longer be able to reply directly to text messages sent from our clinics.

This change is part of a new Australian Government initiative designed to help reduce SMS scams and ensure that messages from legitimate businesses can be easily identified and trusted.

By registering our business name as an official SMS Sender ID, our messages will continue to clearly show our clinic name, helping you recognise that they are genuinely from us.

If you need to contact us after receiving a text message, please call the clinic directly or use our usual contact methods like email.

Thank you for your understanding as we make this change to help keep our communications secure and trustworthy.

Men’s Health Week | 15–21 June 2026

💙 Why Men’s Health Matters

Men are at higher risk of many serious health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and su***de also disproportionately affect men, yet too many delay seeking support due to stigma or societal expectations.

This Men’s Health Week (15–21 June 2026), we’re encouraging men to put their health first. Small actions today can make a big difference tomorrow.

2026 Australian Theme: "See a GP"

If something doesn’t feel right either physically, mentally, or emotionally...don’t ignore it. Seeing a GP can help identify concerns early and connect you with the right support.

✅ Take regular exercise to support your health and reduce stress
✅ Book regular health checks and screenings
✅ Reach out for help when feeling low or overwhelmed
✅ Check in on a mate who may be doing it tough

Talking about health is so important. Whether it’s making an appointment, starting a conversation, or supporting a friend, every step counts.

This Men’s Health Week, make your health a priority and encourage the men in your life to do the same.

No matter what corner of Tassie you find yourselves in, you will receive professional care from our partners, the Leap Health Team.

They now have clinics in Somerset, Burnie, Launceston, Summerhill, Deloraine, New Town, Rosny Park, Salamanca, Hobart, Kingston, Huonville & Home based care.

They are not just there when players are injured and want to get back on the court, they are here to help them perform to the best of their ability throughout the year.

This might include accessing some of the following services that they offer:
🏥 Physiotherapy – Diagnose and treat injuries, support recovery, improve movement, and help prevent future issues so players can stay on the court longer.
💪 Exercise Physiology – Build strength, improve conditioning, and create individualised programs tailored to goals and performance needs.
👟 Podiatry – Assess foot and lower limb function, manage pain or injuries, and optimise movement with footwear advice and custom orthotics.
🥗 Dietetics (Specifically Sports Nutrition with Ella Hannaford) – Fuel performance with expert nutrition advice, tailored meal plans, and strategies to support training, recovery, and game-day performance.

We are proud to partner with Leap Health and invite our members to access the great services that they have on offer 🏀

👋 Meet Simon West – Senior Exercise Physiologist in Burnie

If you’re part of the Burnie community, chances are you’ve already know Simon, but we thought it was time to properly highlight one of our most experienced and dedicated team members.

Simon is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who works across the North West Coast. He has a special interest in chronic pain management and brings a wealth of knowledge to this complex area, supported by his Masters of Science in Medicine (Pain Management).

With extensive experience in musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation and chronic disease management, Simon takes a well-rounded and practical approach to helping people move better and feel stronger.

What makes Simon’s background unique is his 15 years as a Registered Nurse, including time in Critical Care/Intensive Care, as well as experience as a Psychiatric Nurse in Queensland. This diverse clinical experience shapes the way he supports clients by looking at the whole person, not just the injury or condition.

🎓 Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement Studies)
• Masters of Science in Medicine (Pain Management)
• Diploma Health Science (Nursing)
• Pilates Institute of Queensland Certification (Levels 1, 2 & 3 Equipment)
• Member – Exercise & Sports Science Australia

💡 Special interests:
• Cardiac rehabilitation
• Chronic pain treatment
• Mental health
• Back and shoulder injuries

Outside of work, you’ll find Simon enjoying the surf—or tackling the ongoing challenge of lowering his golf handicap ⛳️

We’re excited to officially introduce (and reintroduce!) Kyle Smith 👋

Kyle joined our Coastal team in 2025, but he’s certainly no stranger to Leap Health. After graduating, Kyle began his journey with us at our Kingston and Huonville clinics, where many of our clients and team members first got to know his passion for physiotherapy and patient care.

Since then, Kyle has continued to grow both clinically and professionally, bringing his experience and energy to our Coastal Physiotherapy team.

We’re also proud to announce that Kyle is now stepping into the role of Senior Clinician for Leap Health Coastal Physiotherapy 🎉

As part of this exciting transition, Scott and Simon will be progressing into other senior roles within Leap Health, continuing to exceptionally support our teams and clients across the wider network.

Please join us in congratulating Kyle on this well-deserved role 👏

We’re thrilled to have him leading the Coastal team into this next chapter!
